“Sri Rama Jeya Rama” Mantra was chanted during Deepa Pooja, Shivalinga Pooja and daily by our Balwadi school children, cultural class students and during monthly meetings by our Balwadi teachers and Social Workers. This month nearly 8,75,052 times mantras were chanted in 84 localities. Through 75 Balwadis, 2062 rural Children were nurtured. In all the Balwadis, Malt along with hygienically prepared highly nutritive lunch with vegetables were served during the day and in the evening vitamin-rich cereals were provided to the children, In our Medicare Programme, 2052 patients were examined and treated for various common ailments, through!4 Rural Medical Centers in Kanyakumari Nellai and Thoothukudi districts. Durga Pooja was conducted at 3 places, in Kanyakumari District in which 178 devotees participated. Yoga Varga has been conducted at one place in Aruppukottai where 15 parents attended. Shivalinga Pooja were conducted at 3 places in Kanyakumari District and 159 devotees participated. Swadhyaya Varga has been conducted at one place in Aruppukottai where 13 parents attended. Sri Ramakrishnar Jeyanthi day was celebrated in southem five districts where 1402 people participated in 27 places. Vivekavani Subscriptions for annual 116, three years 1, life -8 and also 253 patrons were collected. 51 Ghia Anna Pooja was performed at Rameshwaram & Mudivecranpattinam 200 devotees participated in the function and rice up to 8175 kgs was collected ‘Under Adopt a Granny Programme, 31 destitutes and old people were provided with monthly solatiums, in the form of rice, dhal, oil, ete., for theit livelihood. 105 persons were provided with rie only in Souther tive districts of Tamilnadu. Under Amrita Surabhi Scheme, our Kendra workers collected 1170 Kgs of rice from five districts, Through various branch centres, including Thoothukudi A.O. and book stalls, literature books were sold for .Rs.1,01,495/- Swami Vivekanandar Yizha celebrated in southern five districts where 3868 people participated in 14 places. In 171 Sanskara Vargas, 6015 students participated. The students were taught about the values of Indian Culture, through games, lectures & lessons. The feelings of oneness were strengthened among participants, through patriotic songs and games. Monthly Deepa poojas were organized in 219 village temples in five districts of Southern Tamilnadu, in which 8727 ladies participated and offered prayers for the welfare of self, family and the society. She is very shrewd and active. One day she conducted a mock Deepa Pooja herself. She had arranged all the students sit in a row. She kept aneem stick for the mike. She started giving the instructions as we did and coherently conducted the pooja as real. At the end she asked them to come again on ‘Chitra Pournami’ day. Her keen observation and talent attracted me. S.Nagajothi - VKRDP - Ramnad District In Valaiyarvadi Balwadi, we used to draw kolam using kolapodi. Nowadays we use Rice flour. It is nice to draw and our hands are cool. Ants as well as sparrows come and use the flour as their food. We felt happy on seeing it. M.Suja - Kallayeeriyanvilai - Kanyakumari Our old student Ambika is now studying in Eathomozhi School. When her mother went to the School for PTA meeting, the Headmaster wanted her to take him to the Balwadi where she studied. He had also praised the teachers for the good training given to the kids in all aspects. I felt very happy and proud on hearing that. S.Sudha — Kannambivilai - Kanyakumari District One day R.Anushka and R.Sivabalan coming from the same house were in the Creche as nobody came for fetching them. As time went on. I took them to my house. When it becomes. very late I was frightened. But the little girl Anushka consoled me saying that their mother might be gone to hospital having faith in me. I felt proud of the kid’s strong confidence on me. N.Vasanthi — Vallioor - Tirunelveli District I went to meet Mrs. Muthu Vijayarani, a Kendra well wisher in her house for getting donation for the 1008 Deepa Pooja to be conducted in Vallioor. She had given the amount for 20 tickets and asked me to come again after 4 days to collect some more amount from the people known. to her. As per her request I informed her about my coming and went. Though she was suffering from high fever, she came with me to all the houses and collected the amount. I was wondered to see her attachment towards Kendra and its services. S.Renuga Bai - Kanyakumari Dist Our Balwadi kids will join in the nearby Aadhi Dravidar Tribe School for std. I. One day the Headmaster of that school came to our Balwadi to know how many children were there for next year. When he entered all the kids stood up and greeted him saying Namasthe Sir. He felt much happy and commented that our Balwadi children were not only good at studies but also had good behavior. In our school the higher class students don’t even stand up while I enter the class. Really I want to appreciate you for giving education with basic values. This encouraged me a lot.
