Responsibility of IBBL"(Hajicamp Branch).Which has been prepared for fulfilling the
requirement for internship program for the degree of BBA.

This is the first time I prepared an extensive report based on my practical experience and I have
tried my best to complete the study in a proper way despite some limitations. This report is
based on my observations during the 6 week long practical training in the Hajicamp Branch of
IBBL. I express my heart-felt gratitude to the officers of the above branch of the Bank for
extending all-out cordial cooperation, guidance and permission to me resizes at their website.

I hope you will find this report meaningful. I also expect that proper assessment will be given
on my report considering the limitations of this study. Within the time limit, I had to prepare this

Executive Summary

The report is based on forty-five days practical experience in Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited
(IBBL), Hajicamp Branch in Dhaka. This report undertakes a study on the pioneer Interest-Free
Financial Institution in Bangladesh, Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL). The aim of the
study was to observe the way IBBL is performing corporate social responsibilities in banking
industries with banking business in interest free and Shariah complied methods. In this attempt I
tried to know how Islamic banking activities differ from that of a conventional bank and also to
see how Islami bank contribute to render financial services towards to the mass people efficiently.
By discussing specifically the foreign exchange and foreign trade operations of IBBL, I tried to
discover how the bank provides international banking services in interest-free and Shariah
approved methods and holds the first position in terms of Import, Export, and Inward foreign
remittance businesses.

The report mainly consists of six chapters. The introductory chapter consists of origin of the
report, objectives, methodology of the report and also limitations of the study. In chapter two,
there is a historical introduction to Islamic banking system. The report defines the background,
objectives & ideology of Islamic Banking system. Chapter three focused on an overview of IBBL
expressing its business philosophy, objectives, goals, mission, vision, products, management
structure, & corporate structure, and business principles. Chapter four provides brief idea about
the financial performance, ratio analysis, which includes corporate Social Responsibilities of
IBBL. Chapter five under which I showed deposit collection, account opening, fund transfer,
account closing and daily working experience in hajiamp branch at IBBL. Chapter six represents
some existing and future Problems and Prospects of Islamic Banking and also some potential
development plans while it concludes the report with some important Findings and significant
Recommendations.

This paper discusses and makes recommendations on the more pertinent issues particularly the
CSR development of New Financial Products in line with the Islamic Shariah, and extension of
investment in line with PLS framework, especially by constituting consortium or syndication by
the Islamic banks. The paper suggests that diversification of investment areas and supply-driven
pro-poor investment policies should be emphasized to realize the goals of Islamic Shariah.
