Welcome to Brickfields Asia College, The Nations No. 1 Law School.

Since inception, BAC has sent more than 7000 Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) graduates into
practice. BACs CLP track record is unrivalled as it has produced the highest number of top students,
book prize winners, 2nd upper performances and passes in the history of the CLP examinations.

Since 2005, BAC students have made a clean sweep of the Tun Hamid Omar Foundation Award which
is presented to the Best Overall CLP Student in Malaysia. BAC students have also secured 55 out of

BACs student accommodation at Mutiara Residences and BAC Residences are


a mere 10-minute walk from the colleges KL campus. Alternatively, students
can opt to use the free shuttle bus service. These high-end condominium units
come with swimming pools, gymnasiums and BBQ areas. In addition, they are
fitted with 24-hour CCTV surveillance and an access card system. In 2015, BAC
launched their new accommodation facility, the Mansion, which can house 600

BACs Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes offers students
the opportunity to support and contribute to various causes and charitable
organisations through numerous fund-raising events and activities. Its
mission is to support student engagement in meaningful community service
work and leadership training that enhances their academic experience,
meets community needs, and encourages a lifelong commitment to social

One of the beneficiaries of BAC Gives Back is EduNation; Malaysias first


social platform for education which provides free tuition for every Malaysian
child. EduNation is funded by BAC as part of its CSR policy to empower

The BAC Education Fund offers financial and merit schol-


arships worth RM 10 million to assist deserving students
achieve their dreams. BAC has also collaborated with the
Star, Sin Chew and MAPCU education funds in granting
scholarships to pre-university and undergraduate students.

Students can also opt for instalment schemes, whereby they


are able to structure fee payments into monthly instalments

new state-of-art fitness centre and gymnasium which was

EVIDENCE
The Law of Evidence is that part of adjective law
which regulates the means by which facts are
proved in judicial proceedings. The main statute
is the Evidence Act 1950 (Act) and candidates
are allowed to take an unmarked copy of the
Act into the examination hall. Law of Evidence
regulates the proving of facts in both criminal and
civil cases. While most of the rules in civil and
criminal cases are the same, there are provisions
that only apply in civil cases and provisions that are
peculiar to criminal cases.

MASTERCLASS SERIES
The purpose of the MasterClass Series (MCS) is to enable students to acquire and develop skills,
knowledge and values to become effective members of the Bar. MCS acts as a bridge and is intended
to balance theory and practice to meet the day to day needs of the legal profession - moving the
student from the Classroom to the Courtroom and/or the Boardroom.

MCS provides students with essential training on the core areas of legal practice. MCS courses are
carefully designed and the content specifically structured to be facilitated over one day of intensive
training. Classes incorporate practical training via case studies and discussion groups and are directed
by a selected team of senior and highly respected members of the bar and bench. Certificates are
issued upon successful completion of each MCS course.

The course is designed to prepare students for
the practice of advocacy which they would be
exposed to at pupillage and thereafter. Students

The objective of this course is to introduce students
to the pervasive skills of managing the facts of the
case and identifying procedural and evidential issues
in light of available evidence. Students will learn to

In this course, students will learn to develop
communication skills expected of legal practitioners
namely, how to be an effective communicator in varied
situations and for different audiences. These skills and
techniques will teach students to communicate with
more clarity, accurary and successfully whilst also
developing competency in areas such as persuasive
writing.

6. Masterclass on Client Interviewing & Conference


Skills
This course will assist students to plan for the clients
case by analysing their instructions, determining the
real issues and assessing the strengths of the case.
Students will be taught different interview techniques
in order to gain information required and to be better
able to offer legal and practical advice to clients.

ethical rules they would need to comply with.

7. Masterclass on Civil Practice


This course aims to provide knowledge and
understanding of the key areas of civil practice
ranging from the pre-trial process to alternative
dispute resolution. Students will be taught to look
at interim issues as well as the treatment of interim
applications.

8. Masterclass on Criminal Practice


This course is designed to provide an overview
of the criminal trial process which includes an
understanding of the pre-trial process and making of
bail applications. Students will be exposed to the key
stages of a criminal case, rules of evidence as well as
principles of professional conduct regulating criminal
practice and advocacy.

9. Masterclass on Conveyancing Law & Practice
This course will provide students with an overview of the conveyancing process as well as the essentials
of a Sale & Purchase Agreement. By the end of this session, students will have a better grasp of
property transactions, charges and common clauses as well as exposure to banking terminology.

10. Masterclass on Negotiation Skills


This course will provide students with practical and hands on experience in learning about and
attaining competency as a negotiator. This is an essential skill to acquire as negotiations are integral
to legal practice. Topics covered include - Interest Based Negotiation vs Position Based Negotiation,
Overcoming Impasse and Creating and Claiming Value.

11. Masterclass on Wills & Probate Practice


This course will give students insights into the law and practice of wills, succession planning and probate.

This Masterclass will provide an overview of insolvency practice. It will explore key concepts of winding
up, receivership, judicial management and schemes of arrangement as alternative procedures for

The course will equip students with an understanding of important principles
of commercial law, including the drafting of commercial agreements,
identifying appropriate business structures as well as exploring the roles of

14. Masterclass on Industrial Practice


This course provides students with an overview of the two most important
legislation in this area: the Employment Act 1955 and the Industrial Act 1967.
Students will be taught the main intentions of these two Acts as well as the
more important provisions. The course will also cover the various methods
of terminating an employment contract.

15. Masterclass on Personal Injury Litigation


This Masterclass will give students valuable insights into the law governing
