FRIT 7739 Digital Citizenship Collaborative Unit

Teara Powell
Field Experience Practicum
Spring 2017

Identification of Learners
Goal: Students will better understand Digital Citizenship.
Students will understand the importance of acting responsibly when using technology.
Students will have a better understanding of

My target audience of that I have identified are middle school students attending Pine Grove
Middle School. The lesson was designed by myself and Tiffany Clemons, Guidance Counselor at
Pine Grove Middle. We are located near a military base and know that sometimes students
sometimes miss out on the lessons devoted to copyright and plagiarism, so we felt it was
important to create a unit of lessons that could be taught to students who were new to Pine
Grove.

Learner Analysis

The primary audience would be students who have just moved to Pine Grove in the last 4
months. This will allow any students who missed out having technology class which is usually
given the second 9 weeks when a student is new to the school. A learner analysis survey will be
provided to the students before beginning the unit. The following data will be collected by using
a google form that was emailed to the students that are attending the class. Google form can be
found under Appendix A.
