I am excited to invite you to our ALL NEW training circle this year. We have made
the price even more accessible and I'll be teaching two of the most important
practices from the Taoist arts cannon, standing qigong and meditation.
As you probably already know: Qigong, Tai Chi, Martial Arts and Meditation are
not something you can do once or twice to get the results. Consistent practice is
essential to attain the vitality, clarity of mind, flexibility, speed, focus, freedom and
enlightenment you desire. This is why I created the Energy Arts Training Circle 5
years ago and why it continues to thrive today.
Inside the EA Training Circle, each month you will get two
primary segments in this edition..
Traditional TaoistStanding Qigong and Taoist Inner Dissolving Meditation
Personally I have never seen the material explained in public to this degree and
depth...you can follow along and reap huge benefits.
Im excited about this new edition to the Energy Arts Training Circle and look
forward to seeing you every month on the inside!
Everything furthers,
Bruce Frantzis
P.S. Weunderstand that you want to be absolutely sure that you love the direct

several years ago I learned 8
FORPOWER, SELF-HEALING,
ANDENLIGHTENMENT...
Standing Qigong is the fundamental practice that forms the foundation for
both beginning and advanced energy work. You learn the following:
Hung I Hsiang
I've met many masters over the years who practice energy artsfor all sorts of reasons. Some
have been saints, some sinners. The one thing in common about them was that they all tend
have exceptional innate intelligenceregardless of whether they had a formal education or
not.
Hung I Hsiang was a very intelligent and articulate man. He recognized the importance
ofmaximizing internal power and chi development, but always focused on the subtleties of how
to effectively deliver the power via smooth changes from one technique to another.
He did this by demonstrating how to make tiny circles deep within every crevice of the body
and change internal body alignments with great speed. For this, he had usstudy Standing
Qigong and Santi. He spent a lot of time showing how tiny shifts in body weight could create
unusual power vectors.
He taught his students how to instantaneously release themselves from bad internal alignments
that could normally paralyze the body, and resume their attack, much like you smoothly change
gears in a stick shift car.Hungs emphasis was on how small changes of body movement or
chi flow could produce superior practical fighting techniques and overall athletic capacity.
As instructed, I assumed the posture. Holding it minute after minute, I collapsed several times,
and each time Wang's assistant immediately drenched me with a bucket of cold water and
ordered me to resume the posture. After two hours of this trial, a smiling Wang agreed to
accept me as his student.
What was Wang testing? Was it my commitment, ability to endure hardship, sincerity or
craziness (that is, passion for the martial arts)? Perhaps it was all of these.
One thing's for certain, standing postures were the basis for all of Wang Shu Jin's high-level
Bagua and Tai Chi training because of the immense internal strength created by the postures.
Kenichi Sawai
When I arrived at my firstclass with Kenichi Sawai (after an intense initiation in which I feared
for my safety), students were standing in front of trees. Their arms were held up in the air
before their chests, as if each person were hugging a huge ball.
Some stood with feet shoulder-width apart, body weight evenly placed on the ground. Others
stood on one weighted leg with the heel of the weightless leg slightly raised.
This standing ritual was performed for an hour or two before anyone moved, usually with Sawai
participating or sometimes walking up to individuals and correcting their postures. After
standing, students practiced moving hand techniqueseither individually or in groups.
In the beginning, each complete step would take about 30 seconds.Progressively, however,
as your chi got stronger, one full step with its attendant hand technique could take as much as
10 minutes. Standing postures gave us the internal strength and power necessary to learn
Kenichi's more advanced teachings.
My last teacher in China, Liu Hung Chieh, was a master of bagua, tai chi, hsing-i and Taoist
meditation. In addition, he was a master calligrapher and a classical Chinese scholar who had
a complete knowledge of traditional Chinese medical theory.
Wang Shu Jin, Hung I Hsiang and Liu Hung Chieh all had incredible power. They had the
ability to discharge energy (fa jin) to the extent that they could effortlessly and painlessly uproot
and send the strongest of students flying for many feet in any direction they chose. They also
had the ability to touch you with no apparent force and project their energy inside the body to
cause injury or pain, if necessary. Liu had the added ability to heal with the same light fa jin
touch.
Of the three men, Liu was the most powerful. This fact is hard to believe since Liu weighed
less than 110 pounds, whereas Hung was in the 240-pound range and Wang was closer to
300 pounds. On one of my first days with Liu, he asked about my martial arts background. Liu
said that I looked big and strong, which I was at over 200 pounds. As a small test, he got up
and put his hand in the Single Palm Change posture and asked me to move it. I could
not.Like Wang, Liu said that chi was more important than size, youth or strength.
Liu was also able to understand and communicate the whole interconnected overview of
qigong (chi gung). This experience for me was different from that obtained from my other
teachers, who were adepts at specific areas of qigong (chi gung), but were unable to connect
all the various divergent threads of the complete qigong tapestry.
We have him to thank for much of this program and especially for transmitting the teachings
from Taoist meditation. It is here for you to learn and further your own path.

There is a common story about the best people in hsing-i that says they
were made to do santi for between one and three years before being
allowed to learn anything else. Many interpret this type of demand as a
useless hazing process.
Aside from the martial aspects, santi teaches how to make the mind calm
and how to free it of accumulated stress. The process that santi sets in
motion for balance, health and healing is expanded and fulfilled in the Five
Element practices.
