Dear Mr. Henning:

I am writing to inquire about the job position as a sales representative. More specifically I want
to work on selling RVs, and using marketing strategies to bring more clients to Ranch RV. I
learned about the job opening from a family friend in the area.

Just last summer I went on a thirty-day hiking trip with NOLS. This acronym stands for the
National Outdoor Leadership School. I was put in an environment with nineteen other eighteen
to twenty year olds; none of which I knew. I hiked, cooked, and slept besides these people. I
learned how to work with difficult people as well as what kind of leader I am (Architect/Analyst.
My traits as an analytical leader would work really well with the position too. For example, I
prefer to make decisions based on facts for accurate sales, and can translate my feelings and
experiences into ideas in order to effectively sell the product to the customer.

For six years of my life, starting when I was thirteen years old, I was a soccer referee. This is no
easy task to do especially at the age I started. Difficult or stress inducing aspects of the game
included not only backlash from the players but from the parents on the sideline as well.
Regardless, I adapted to these negative comments directed towards me. I was able to find a way
to control the game to my advantage to minimize or eliminate these comments. My ability to
repel these negative comments will allow me to effectively communicate with the customer in
any situation.
