Java Developer

M is seeking a Java Developer for our client based in Washington, D.C.

this position will be 100% remote telework. The ideal candidate will have be
strong with; JavaScript, JSP and JEE as well as a strong understanding of
object-oriented design. The candidate should be a strong front-end
developer.

Job Responsibilities:
Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of
computers running on one or more operating systems.
Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.
Sets up administrator and service accounts.
Maintains system documentation
Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and
software, coordinates installation and provides backup
recovery.
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation
related to the use of computing resources.
May program in an administrative language.
Oversees implementation of testing strategies and
documentation of results.
Provides advice and training to end-users.
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-
experienced staf members, and may have supervisory
responsibilities.
Serves as a technical team or task leader.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
Experience in object-oriented design, layered software
architecture, and software development processes.
Hands-on skills in enterprise web application development and
enterprise application integration.
Expert in web and Java/JEE technologies, and able to
communicate knowledgeably with those working in other
technologies.
Able to conduct customer presentations for requirements
gathering or design reviews.
Focused on software design and implementation; also expert in
version control, build processes, and quality control and review.
Contributor to project planning and estimating.
Advanced knowledge of software engineering principles,

Job/Project Description:
Java EE development with a small virtual team for a government
client.
Web-based information system for specialized internal
services and reporting.
Web services-based integration with related systems (both SOAP
and REST).

Education/Equivalent Training Required:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related
technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education,
technical training, or work/military experience.
Masters Degree preferred
Experience (state type and preferred #of years)
Unique/Additional Requirements:
Five to ten years experience developing web-based information
systems.
Two or more years recent experience with Java and JEE technologies.
Knowledge of Java, Object-oriented design, and software
development processes.
Experience with version control (SVN, etc.), issue tracking,
and team development.
Experience with use case requirements and use case-centric
development.
Experience with unit testing and test-driven development.
Good attention to detail; ability to work independently; good
communication skills.
Must be focused on high customer satisfaction and overall team
collaboration.
