Updates/Need-To-Know Coming This Week:

This is the time of year when time REALLY flies
by! We are booked with assemblies, testing,
special events, etc. and we stay busy, busy, busy!
This week we wrapped up our DIBELS testing,
started fractions, introduced a new book report,
and started our map making project. Phew!
One upcoming event I would like to draw your
attention to is the school s Reunification Drill
happening on Wednesday, May 10. In the event of
any school emergency, students will need to be
systematically reunited with their parents, this
drill is a run through of how an event such as that
would realistically unfold. There is a PowerPoint
Presentation on the school website with
information regarding that day. I would suggest
going over it before the day of the drill so you and
your family can be prepared to participate.

Assembly, 9:45am
Wednesday, April 26 Vehicle Day,
9:00am; Book Report Selection due
Math: We are continuing our Fractions
Unit! We will be working on understanding
fractions on a number line as well as
equivalent fractions. Quick Quizzes are
happening 2-3 times a week as well.
Literacy: This week we will have all of our
tests (Spelling, Vocab, Comprehension) on
Thursday (4/27). We are also continuing
with our Book Clubs and students can
bring their Cereal Box Book Report book to
read during their silent reading time if they
would like to do so.
Spelling: New spelling words coming home
in the Homework Packet. I have uploaded
the spelling lists onto Spelling City
(www.spellingcity.com/tolbert3).
Social Studies: We have been learning
about maps since Spring Break and this
week students will begin work on creating a
map of a room in their house!

We REALLY struggled with talking over classmates
and teachers and staying quiet in the halls this
