INTERMEDIATE MOMENT

Created by Victor Daniel Bedoya Garcia

Objective: Students will be able to describe and recommend movies and TV programs

Topic: Movies and TV programs

Justification: Since speaking is likely the language skill that most second language
learners want to enhance, concerning the second language teaching field, the speaking
orientation factor, as another commutative skill branch, has been valued and
strengthen, as so has been the case of its testing procedures and methods. Levelt
(1989) proposed that speech production involves four major processes:
conceptualization, formulation, articulation and self-monitoring; Hence, the video was
created with the intention of offering an initial input with comes along with those
aforementioned main concepts. It also offers the possibility for students to properly listen
to the sound of the intended words and sentences, as well as to see the correct
grammar writing forms, simultaneously developing the writing and listening second
language skills.

Fluency, accuracy and complexity are intended to be embedded, oriented towards

putting students under increased time pressure in order to make them formulate and
'automatize', (Johnson 1988, 1996b); as so does the video, fostering learners
involvement into building up progressively from their fluency language basis, up to more
complex and complete skill development phases; through the activity participation which
also allow students to be assessed and produce speech by repeating the video tips and
suggestions.

the number of students in class (25); each flashcard contains the name and
an illustrative picture of a movie or TV program.

b. Each flashcard will fit into a shoebox.

c. Each student comes to the box and with his eyes closed, randomly takes
out one of flashcards in the box.
