Report for Public lecture 1

My vision for industry courier in 2030 is to have excellent quality of the

service, and make use the latest technology to maximize the accuracy of service,
as like delivering the packages, no matter in domestic or international.
As nothing will stay the same, everything has to change over time, how if
we keep using the same technology after Nth year? Expensive postage fee but a
poor courier service, or a poor delivery system, possibly can takes months
delivered to right person? If I am a CEO of courier service company, the first
things I will consider is the efficiency of logistic service. The efficiency of the
whole courier service is depending on logistic service, so, the process of logistic
service can be enhanced by few application, like ERP (Enterprise resource
planning) systems, network technology, decision support system, time-tracking
systems, automated warehouse, and advanced loading and unloading
equipment. For example, the main function of ERP system is to minimize delays
and accelerate time to completion by cutting down on multitasking by planning
its resource efficiently. Some common software for implementing ERP system are
Infor VISUAL ERP, NetSuite, Sage ERP, Microsoft Dynamics GP and SYSPRO.

In conclusion, courier service plays the important role to push our

countrys economy.
