Introduction
Team Workspace Desktop Release 2003.18.1.0 is a new release of Landmarks technical portal
software that provides instant access to your applications and data, either behind or outside your
firewall, in a collaborative project team environment.

This document contains a description of the new functionality, enhancements, and any known
issues. Installation instructions for Team Workspace appear in a separate installation guide.
Please read the entire Team Workspace Installation Guide before attempting to install this
product.

If you have questions, call your Landmark Customer Service representative.

System Requirements
Team Workspace has different requirements for its various servers in a Team Workspace site
and for the Client using a workspace.

Server Requirements
For a full list of the requirements, including third party software, for a Team Workspace site,
refer to the Team Workspace Desktop Installation Guide.

Client Requirements
The Team Workspace client employs a web browser as its client application. Depending on the
configuration of the workspace site, the client may require other software. For example, if the
workspace is configured to launch Citrix applications, you will need to install the Citrix ICA
client.

The minimum requirement of a Team Workspace client is Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0,
Service Pack 1, on Windows 2000; or Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, Service Pack 2, on
Windows XP.

Installation
The installation procedures are located in Team Workspace Desktop Installation Guide. An
online version of this book is located on the Team Workspace installation CD in the
\Documentation folder. The file name is TWS_InstallationGuide.PDF .

Enhancements and New Functionality

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 includes the following enhancements and new functionality.

Map Enhancements
Map Name Identifier in Map Viewer. The map name has been added to the upper left of
the map viewer. With many map applications registered in a workspace, and especially with
the Show In Map links in Grid view, displaying the maps name in the viewer makes it easier
to determine which map is displayed.

New Selection Methods.

Circle Selection Tool. This tool allows you to draw a circle on the map for querying and
selecting ArcIMS data. A circle is created by dragging the mouse cursor from a center
point to its circumference. When you stop dragging the mouse and release the mouse
button, Team Workspace automatically selects items in the layer.

Polygon Selection Tool. This tool allows you to create a polygon on the map for
querying and selecting ArcIMS data. A polygon is created by clicking each vertex of the
polygon. When you are satisfied with the polygon, you select a link to request Team
Workspace to actually select the items.

Spatial Query by Proximity Tool. This tool allows you to select items in one layer
based on their proximity to already selected items in another layer or the same layer. The
tool allows you to define the proximity distance and to preview the proximity envelope
before selecting any items.

Selection Modes. Each of the selection tools (polygon, circle, rectangle, and identify, or
single item) function in a selection mode. The map viewer has four modes: Replace All,
Remove, Add, and Toggle. These modes allow you to add items to or remove items from the
set of currently highlighted items. The default mode is Replace All, which was the only
selection mode in versions of Team Workspace before Release 2003.18.1.0.

A selection in the Replace All mode unhighlights any selected items from a previous
selection, and highlights items in the new selection. A selection in the Remove mode
unhighlights any selected items from a previous selection that are in the new selection. A

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 3 of 24 January 2006

selection in the Add mode leaves any selected items from a previous selection highlighted,
and highlights any items in the new selection that are not highlighted. A selection in the
Toggle mode inverts the highlighting within the new selection, namely unhighlighting any
highlighted items from a previous selection that are within the new selection, and
highlighting any unhighlighted item in the new selection.

Ruler Tool. A new ruler tool allows you to measure distance in the map, between points or
along a path, by selecting points in the map. Besides displaying distance between the mouse
cursor and the last selected point, the tool displays offsets from the point: X, or West-East;
and Y, North-South. The units of measure can be in miles, feet, kilometers, or meters.

Save Current View Tool. The Save Current View function allows you to name and save an
area of interest as defined by the current view of the map, and then display the view at
another time by selecting the name or a thumbnail image.

Zooming by Latitude and Longitude. The latitude and longitude of the boundaries of the
current map view are now displayed in text boxes in the map viewer. You can enter
coordinates in the text boxes to zoom to a new view of the map.

Map Image Resize. Text boxes are now available in the Resize area of the map viewer.
They allow you to enter a new width and height for the map image, allowing you to change
the size of the map image to fit the screen resolution better.

Export to Shape File Tool. This tool allows you to extract items selected in the map to
shape files. Optionally, you can include the visible and hidden layers in the shape files. The
data file that is exported with the shape file is the data file associated with the layer, but only
containing the selected or clipped items.

This functionality requires the ArcIMS service to have the extract extensions enabled. To
add the extensions, edit the ArcIMS configuration file by adding:
<EXTENSION type="extract">

Export to Printable Image Tool. The current map view, along with its legend, can now be
exported to a printable image or saved to a file. When exporting the image, you can also
specify the height and width of the image size. The configuration of the ArcIMS image
server determines the file format of a saved image.

Right Mouse Click on Map Image. In previous releases, when you right-clicked the mouse,
the currently selected map tool was executed, altering the current map view. In this release,
you can right-click on the map and use the standard browser functionality without modifying
the current map view.

ArcIMS Query Service Connector

Team Workspace now supports the ability to create data catalogues from ArcIMS layers. This
allows for a more powerful and smoother integration between the catalogue textual search and
Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 4 of 24 January 2006
the map result. By creating a Team Workspace catalogue from an ArcIMS layer, you can now
more easily perform a textual search among the general attributes of the maps active layer.

Chart Data Series (Group XY Chart)

In previous releases, the chart capability in Team Workspace could produce two types of charts:
XY and Pie charts. In this release, an additional chart type has been added: Group XY charts.
The XY chart type plots each column of data as a separate data series. The new Group XY Chart
allows you to create data series against a group of values, plotting data from a single column.

Data Summary Matrix

In previous releases, the data summary was only generated in a tree view. Now, the data
summary can be viewed in the tree view or a matrix view. Given a select list of items, the data
summary matrix displays counts of data matches. There are two set of counts. The first set,
displayed in a tabular format, is a count of catalogue matches only for those classifications that
contain data. The second set, displayed in a full report view, is a count of the number of records
found per catalogue.

Saved Searches
Team Workspace now provides the ability to save the search parameters of a catalogue. The
search parameters are saved with a name you provide, and are available in a new Saved Search
menu in the workspace menu pane. New links have been added to the search form to allow you
to save the search criteria, manage the saved searches, and use the saved searches. Saved
searches can be shared or personal, and if a select list has been applied to the catalogue, the
search parameters can be saved with or without the select list. Once the search constraints have
been saved, you can manage the saved search: view its details, delete it, or rename it. You can
execute the saved search through a link on the search form or through the new Saved Search
menu in the workspace menu pane. This new menu allows you to quickly access and execute a
saved search.

Full Identification of Search Parameters with Result

In previous releases, when a search query was executed, only the data result was presented in the
catalogue Grid view. The search constraints were not displayed in the Grid view, which made it
difficult to determine what parameters were used to retrieve the result. Now, when the search is
performed, the search constraints from the search form are also displayed in the catalogue Grid
view above the table of data.

Search Operators Description

The search form now contains an Operators Help link to help explain the search operators
provided on the form. The link opens up a new window that lists all the operators and their
meanings. In addition, samples of SQL queries using the operators are provided so that you can
see the SQL statements Team Workspace uses when executing a query.

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 5 of 24 January 2006

Import from External List for the IN Search Operator
Previously, when using the IN operator in the search form, you could only enter a comma
separated list of items manually. With this release, a new Import From List icon has been added
to the search form for the IN operator. This capability allows you to copy-and-paste a list of
items (separated by carriage returns or commas) from another source into the text box for the IN
operator. When the Import From List icon is selected, a new Import From List form displays.
You can then copy the list to the Windows clipboard (for example, Ctrl+C), and paste it (Ctrl+V)
into the Import From List form. When you import the list, any carriage returns are replaced with
commas and the list is placed in the text box for the IN operator.

Printer-friendly Printout of Grid View Result

New functionality has been added to facilitate printing the data in the Grid view. In prior
releases, if you just wanted the Grid view in a printout, you had to resize the left pane to
minimize its presence in the printout. There were no means to remove other items in the Grid
view, such as the application links and the select list drop-down box. Also, if the Grid view data
spanned multiple pages, and if you wanted to print all of the data, you would have to print each
page separately. Now, a new Print link has been added in the Grid view. The link opens a new
browser window, strips all the extraneous items, and formats the Grid view data into one full
page for printing.

Export Data Result to Word, Excel, PDF (Requires Crystal Reports XI Developer)
In previous releases, Team Workspace allowed you to export data from a catalogue with the
Save As Text functionality. It exports all the data from a catalogue displayed in Grid view into a
CSV file. Now, in addition to that functionality, Team Workspace provides a new data export
application that utilizes capabilities in Crystal Reports XI, Developer Edition. The catalogue data
can now be exported to any format that Crystal Reports supports, such as Word (RTF or DOC),
Excel (XLS), and Adobe Reader (PDF). You can export specific items, the entire search result
up to the maximum number of records for the catalogue, or the entire search result beyond the
maximum number of records. The export application in Team Workspace can also be used to
export data for a related catalogue in the Full view. Crystal Reports formats and outputs the data.
The report files (RPT files), which are used to format the output, must be created outside of
Team Workspace and imported into the catalogues Style section. Team Workspace does not
ship with Crystal Reports. It must be purchased separately. To use this new functionality, both
the license and the software of Crystal Reports XI, Developer Edition, must be install on the
Team Workspace web servers.

Format Catalogue Grid View Presentation

Generally, Team Workspace only allows administrators to manipulate the presentation data.
Now, any user can format the Grid view presentation according to their needs. You can reorder
columns, hide or show columns, and resize columns. A new Column Selector icon link has been
added to the Grid view header to support reordering and hiding and showing the columns. These
changes are saved in the Team Workspace database for the user, so that the configuration is
available when the user logs in later on. To resize the columns, drag the column table heading to

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 6 of 24 January 2006

make the column smaller or wider. The column size is saved as a client-side cookie in the
browser. If the cookie is deleted or if you login from another system, the column configuration
will not be available.

Email Objects Data Requests to Administrator

Team Workspace provides the Add Comments functionality in Full view, which allows you to
send comments regarding data quality to the administrator of the catalogue. However, this
functionality is tied to a particular catalogue record and is not useful when data is absent. In this
release, the administrator of a catalogue can additionally provide to the users of the catalogue the
ability to request data from the catalogue administrator. To provide this capability in a catalogue,
an email address must be configured in the catalogue, the new EmailAdmin web application
must be configured in the workspace, and the EmailAdmin application must be added to the
catalogue as a Grid view application. When the application is launched, it displays a form which
has a text box for general comments, text boxes for all primary key columns, and text boxes for
any other columns configured for display in Grid view. With these text boxes, the email can
contain general comments about the data or refer to specific data and columns in the catalogue.
The EmailAdmin web application uses the SMTP service to send the email.

Bypass Related Catalogue Required Sign-On

In previous releases, if you opened a parent catalogue that also had a related catalogue, and if the
related catalogue required you to log in, you had to log into the related catalogue before you
could access the data in the parent catalogue. Team Workspace required all authentication upon
initial data access. However, if the access permissions of the related catalogue had not been set
up correctly, you might not be able to view the parent catalogue, which you might have access
to, because you do not have access to a related catalogue. In this release, catalogue sign-on has
been enhanced to allow you to skip the related catalogue login and to view the parent catalogue
data. The bypass sign-on option is session based; therefore, when you log in to the workspace
again, and access the parent catalogue again, you must decide to log in or skip the login to the
related catalogue.

Controllable Page Size

In this release, you can now define how many records to display per page in Grid view. By
default, ten records are displayed per page. A new Records Displayed Per Page setting has been
added to the My Settings section of the User Profile page. This setting allows you to determine
how many records will display on a page, when you view a catalogue. Since this is your user
setting, it affects the display of Grid view for all catalogues in all workspaces you have access to.

Domain\User Login support

Team Workspace now allows you to log into the site using the DomainName\UserName
syntax. In prior versions, only the UPN syntax, or email address format,
UserName@Domain.com, was allowed.

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 7 of 24 January 2006

Multi-language Display and Unicode Storage
Team Workspace now supports Unicode data entry and storage and supports a framework for
translating and displaying the static content in the Team Workspace site to a different language.
A new Language And Date Format subection has been added to the Workspace Settings page. It
allows you to set the default language and date format in the workspace. Individual users can
override the workspace setting by using the new Language And Date Format subsection in the
My Settings section of their User Profile page. Only the default English language files are
shipped with the product. For more information about adding a language or translating the static
text elements in Team Workspace, contact Landmark Technical Support.

Enhancements to the Workspace Menu Pane (or Left Pane)

Tooltips. When you hover the mouse cursor over any menu item, the items description is
now displayed in a tooltip.

Menu Tree. For better performance, the menu now utilizes a tree component and is
collapsed by default when you first enter the workspace. Workspace administrators can
change this default behavior by enabling a setting in the Workspace Settings page that
expands all menus in the Menu pane. Enabling this behavior, though, will cause the Menu
pane to load more slowly.

Project Selection. Changing projects is now accomplished by selecting the project from the
Project Selection drop-down box in the Menu pane. Previously, changing projects was
accomplish by selecting a project tab.

Project Refresh. A new Refresh link is available to refresh just the Menu pane for the
project. To refresh the entire project page or the workspace, use the standard browser Refresh
button.

Saved Search Menu. In this release, you are able to save queries for a catalogue. These
saved search parameters are available from the search form, and they are available in the new
Saved Search menu. The menu makes the saved searches readily accessible. The saved
searches are grouped by catalogue and ordered according to whether they are shared or
personal.

Value to Image Mappings

Team Workspace now provides the ability to replace the displayed data values in Grid view (not
the actual values in the catalog) with images that symbolize the values. For example, the text
value increasing might be replaced in Grid view with an image of a green up-arrow, or the
text value decreasing might be replaced with a red down-arrow. To support this
functionality, a Has Images check box has been added to the Columns section of the Manage
Catalogue page. This check box determines whether or not a mapping should be used to replace
a value in the column with an image.

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 8 of 24 January 2006

The Data page (Workspace > Project Content > Data) has a new link, Manage Value-Image
Mappings, to allow the administrator to create mappings, view the detail of an existing mapping,
and delete an existing mapping. When a mapping between values and images is created, the
mapping is available on a workspace level. A value can only be mapped to one and only one
image. Therefore, in a workspace, all columns where the Has Images check box is checked, and
if each column has a value which has been mapped to an image, the same image will appear in
each catalogue when it is displayed in Grid view.

Citrix MetaFrame Server Settings

In previous releases, administrators could only publish MetaFrame applications from the
MetaFrame server specified in the Workspace Settings page. To publish applications from a
different server, a workspace administrator would have to modify the MetaFrame server settings
in the Workspace Settings page, but doing so could cause problems with distributed
administration of the workspace.

In this release, Team Workspace now provides the ability for workspace administrators to
manage MetaFrame server settings on a project per project basis, and to publish applications
from those settings. An administrator can create a list of MetaFrame servers in a project, and
then when publishing a new MetaFrame application, the administrator can either use the default
workspace setting or choose the name of a MetaFrame server from the list created for the
project.

Since the list of MetaFrame servers does not span all projects in the workspace, an administrator,
who has access to only one project, can publish applications from various MetaFrame servers
without changing the MetaFrame server setting for the workspace, and thus affecting the settings
of other administrators in the workspace.

In addition to publishing applications from a list of MetaFrame servers, you can now change the
configuration of an existing published application to use a different MetaFrame server without
having to republish the application.

Channels Web Links Length Extension

The number of characters allowed in a link in a Web Link Channel has been enhanced to allow
more than 100 characters.

Owner-only Delete of Applications and Channels

In previous releases, an administrator could delete applications and channels created by other
administrators. However, this capability was not consistent with the administration of
catalogues. Only the administrator who created a catalogue could delete it. The Microsoft SQL
Server requires this restriction in its permission settings.

In this release, in order to encourage more consistency in Team Workspace and to prevent other
administrators from being able to delete applications and channels they did not create, a new
check box, Owner-only Delete Of Apps And Channels, has been added to the Workspace
Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 9 of 24 January 2006
Settings page. The default behavior of Team Workspace is the same as in previous releases,
which allows any Workspace Manager to delete any applications or channels. To prevent the
default behavior, you must check the Owner-only Delete Of Apps And Channels check box.
When the box is enabled, the Delete link appears only to the owner of the applications or
channels. All other Workspace Managers will not see the Delete link.

User Administration Display Name

In the Users page (Workspace > Administration > Users), the list of workspace users has been
enhanced to also display the users friendly name and the Active Directory folder the account is
contained in. Prior to this enhancement, only the users UPN was displayed in the table. With
this enhancement, you can easily see the name without needing to display the users details. It is
a convenience in environments where the UPN is composed in some standard format that does
not include the persons name (for example, xxxx1234@Domain.com).

SQL Database Log Files Location

When creating the Team Workspace site and workspaces, the installation can now specify a path
for the log files of the database. In previous releases, the database log files were always stored in
the same location as the data files of the database.

Site Database Configuration Update

The TWAdmin command line utility has been enhanced to allow administrators to update
existing site configuration information in the site database. Upon creation of the Team
Workspace site, the site configuration in the site database is populated with the values specified
in ixSiteVariables.js. Information in the site database is then used to create workspaces. Prior to
this enhancement, in order to modify this configuration, an administrator would have to
manually update this configuration via SQL Server.

Windows 2003 Support

The Team Workspace database and web servers can now be installed in either Windows 2000 or
Windows 2003. Please consult the Team Workspace Desktop Installation Guide for details.

Citrix NFuse Update to Web Interface 4.0

In previous releases, Team Workspace utilized the Citrix NFuse component to interact with the
Citrix MetaFrame Server and to launch Citrix applications. To support both the Windows 2000
and 2003 platforms, Team Workspace now utilizes the Citrix Web Interface 4.0 component. As a
result, a Citrix MetaFrame Server farm, which Team Workspace accesses, must be running
Citrix MetaFrame XP (Feature Release 3), or higher.

XML2 / XMLWeb Content Manager Consolidation

The XML2 content manager has now been deprecated in this release. XML2 functionality has
been incorporated into the XMLWeb content manager.

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 10 of 24 January 2006

Team Workspace .NET Applications Deployment per Workspace
Team Workspace uses each workspace as a security boundary. In previous releases, the .NET
applications were deployed under the default website, which did not adhere to the workspace
security model. In this release, the installation has been modified so that the .NET applications
are installed in the workspace directory.

Column Options (Lookup Items) and Search Operators

In previous releases, when a catalogue column was configured with a list of items in the
columns Options list box, the search form limited the search operators for the column to
Equals ( = ), Not Equal ( != ), IsNull, and IsNotNull. In this release, the list of search operators
available for such a column now includes all operators relevant to the data type of the column.

IDTE and Query Service Catalogues

In previous releases, IDTE applications only worked with catalogues based on OLEDB external
connections. In this release, IDTE applications can also work with catalogues created from
PowerHub and ArcIMS Query Service external connections.

Fixed Issues
150763 Catalogue Administration. When managing a catalogue, the Target
Catalogue name in the Relations grid now displays the catalogue display
name, which is consistent with the catalogue display names shown when
creating the relation.

173856 Workspace Menu Classification. When a user does not have access to
any classified data or applications but does have access to unclassified
data or applications, the unclassified data or applications are not
displayed. This is a problem if the workspace is configured to not "display
apps/data in workspace menu". In this scenario, the user would not see
any data or apps to click on. Modifications have been made so that any
unclassified data and applications to which the user has access are
displayed, even if the user does not have access to any classified data or
applications.

174263 Catalogue Index View. When a catalogue column of real data type has a
specified decimal place value, the specified decimal places length is now
honored in the index view tree.

179301 Map. If the ArcIMS image service has a layer set to invisible, the map
should never list this layer and never view as it has been turned off by the
administrator. Currently it is listed and grayed out on initial load, but then
becomes visible in subsequent actions. A fix has been made to prevent
these layers from appearing in the layer list.

179362 Map. Map grid column titles now display the catalogue column display
name instead of the catalogue column IDs.

305918 Catalogue Administration. When managing a catalogue, the ID column in

the UID relation grid now displays the column display name, which is
consistent with the column display names shown when creating the UID
relation.

617025 Map. No data is displayed in the catalogue grid view after executing the
map to catalogue workflow several times for different catalogue joins
against the same layer. The layer was not being set at the proper time in
the show in map workflow when accessed from different catalogues. This
has now been fixed.

617776 Chart. An error occurs when trying to create an additional new chart after
creating an initial chart and selecting the back link from the Manage Chart

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 12 of 24 January 2006

screen. Workspace Administrators can now create multiple charts using
this workflow.

622764 Classifications. Classification Types won't update under certain

circumstances. For example, adding a "." (dot) or Z, etc. to the end of the
name updates successfully, but removing the character from the name
does not work. This issue occurs when the same classification name is
used in multiple projects. Once the classification name in a specific
project has been updated to different name, it can not be updated again to
the original name. This has now been fixed.

623310 Map to Catalogue. When a catalogues is browseable option is not

selected, the map to catalogue workflow displayed the catalogue search
form pre-populated with the search values from the map. This has been
modified so that the default search view is overridden and the catalogue
grid view is displayed with data from the map search.

623931 TWAdmin MMC tool to add users to the workspace. Select a domain and
click the List All button to return all users in the domain. After selecting
a different domain and selecting the initial domain again, the domain users
are not returned and listed. This error has been fixed so that the initial
List All domain users are displayed after switching back to the initial
domain from a different domain.

624811, 705025 Catalogue Search. Selecting the Between operator in the catalogue
search form and leaving the constraint values empty resulted in an error
when executing the search. This error has been resolved for two scenarios:
(1) the between operator is selected but no values are specified and (2) the
between operator is used but only one value is specified. In the latter
scenario, both lower and upper value are treated the same.

628498 Pick List. An error occurs when trying to use the pick list on one column
when the Between operator is used on another column in the search
form. This has now been fixed.

634681 Catalogue Views. Columns of memo data type now can not be added to
the briefcase, index, and order by views. SQL Server memo fields can
only be searched using the following operators: LIKE, StartingWith,
IsNull.

698484 Map Settings. After attempting to create a map service using an invalid
map server name, clicking on the <<back link now redirects back to the
correct Add Map Service page instead of the Change Map Services
page.

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 13 of 24 January 2006

699620 Catalogue Administration. In the previous release, a column of file data
type was automatically prevented from being added to the catalogue
search view on creation. Thus search for filename was not possible for
new catalogues. The ability to add/remove file columns from the search
view is now possible in this release.

700095 Save as Select List. The display count in the save as select list workflow
now only counts select lists the user created. If the user is not a workspace
manager and thus can not create shared select lists, only the users
personal select lists are counted.

700099 Catalogue Sign-On. Users are required to authenticate against catalogues

they do not have access to. This has been fixed so that users who have not
been granted access to a related catalogue that is configured for require
individual login do not have to enter any credentials. Since they do not
have access to the related catalogue, they do not need to authenticate
against it.

702744 Map Joins. An error occurred when selecting an internal shared catalogue
to join to the map data. Internal catalogue joins in the map is now
supported.

703731 Catalogue Administration. A new catalogue definiton file can be created

with the same name as an existing one, overwriting the existing one.
Modifications have been made to prevent this from happening, and an
appropriate message is displayed asking the user to specify a different
name.

705083 User Administration. In the web interface, when a filter is entered to

return existing users in the workspace, paging does not work against the
filtered result correctly. This has now been fixed.

705890 External Data Connection. Although an external database connection can

be created with special characters such as an & in its name, an error
occurs when attempting to use the connection to create an external
catalogue. Validation code has now been added to prevent special
characters like "\><?&*/" from being entered when creating an external
database connection.

714973 TWAdmin MMC. When using the TWAdmin MMC tool to add users to
the workspace, the user list screen now displays "name", "UPN", "In
folder" to be consistent with the user search screen in the web interface.

717049 Catalogue Administration. Exporting a Powerhub catalogue structure with

attributes now exports the data correctly.

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 14 of 24 January 2006

717868 IDTE Application. IDTE applications can not be launched from the
catalogue full/detail view. In the previous release, IDTE applications were
only allowed to be published as show in briefcase. IDTE applications
can now also be published as show in catalogue to allow it to be
launched from the catalogue full view.

718371, 704078 Data Summary. Paging now works when there are more than twenty
Master-Entity catalogues in the Choose Master-Entity Catalogue screen
and more than twenty select lists in the Choose Select List screen.

718642 IDTE Application. The target window entry is now saved when adding or
updating an IDTE application.

720244 Catalogue Administration. Catalogue definition files must be in a valid

XML format. Validation has been added to ensure only well-formed XML
files are uploaded.

Known Issues/Workarounds

Errors when Making a Proximity Selection in the Map

After making a proximity selection in a GIS map, Team Workspace may display an error similar
to the following:
System.Exception: MapRequest:Send(): Error in response from custom Service

Also, if you log out of Team Workspace, log back in, and access the map service, Team
Workspace may display another error.

The Proximity Selection tool can invoke resource intensive requests, especially when the layers
involved in the selection are in shape files. These requests can take several minutes. Such long
requests can time out on the web server, which causes the first error above. In addition, while the
ArcIMS server is working on the request, the server may not respond to new user requests,
which can cause the second error.

If such errors happen regularly, the Administrator of the ArcIMS server should consider tuning
the ArcIMS server. For example, the tuning could involve adding additional image server
threads or updating the server to use SDE. (Issue # 635322)

File Size Upload Limit in Windows Server 2003

When uploading files to a Team Workspace site running on Windows 2003 Internet Information
Services (IIS) 6.0, an error occurs that prevents you from uploading files larger than 200
Kilobytes. This is a limitation set by IIS 6.0. (Issue # 714241)

Workaround: Modify the IIS 6.0 Metabase configuration as indicated in the third party
component, FUPLOAD.DLL, web site:
http://www.dalun.com/faq.asp

Netscape and Other Browsers

Netscape and other browsers have not been tested as a Team Workspace client.

Disabled User Account

After a user account has been disabled, the user may still be able to access the account for a

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 16 of 24 January 2006

limited amount of time. This problem is a result of account password caching in Microsoft
Internet Information Server.

User Can Still Log in With Old Password

After password is changed, the user may still be able to log in with their old password for a
limited amount of time. This problem is due to account password caching in Microsoft Internet
Information Server (IIS). (Issue # 163144 )

User Access to a Workspace

When a user is granted access to an additional workspace, the user may not have immediate
access to the workspace; even though, the workspace is listed as an option on the Change
Workspace screen. The user may have to wait up to fifteen minutes before the workspace is
accessible.

Chart in Team Workspace and Access Databases

When creating a chart from a catalog based on an Access database, the chart may not display. To
resolve this problem, assign read and write permissions for all users to the C:\Documents
and Settings\WebServerName\ASPNET folder on the web servers in the Team
Workspace site. This folder is created after a client launches Team Workspace.

For example, do the following on each Team Workspace web server after Team Workspace has
been launched:

1. Open the C:\Document And Settings\WebServerName\ASPNET\local

settings folder.

2. Right-click the Temp subfolder to display a pop-up menu.

3. Select the Properties option. The Properties dialog displays.

4. Select the Security tab.

5. Click Add. The Select Users, Computers, Or Groups dialog displays.

6. Select WebServerName\ASPNET and Domain Name\Domain Users in the upper list

box.

7. Click Add.

8. Click OK. The Select Users, Computers, Or Groups dialog disappears, and the new name

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 17 of 24 January 2006

appears in the Name list box in the Property dialog.

9. Select WebServerName\ASPNET and Domain Name\Domain Users in the Name list

box.

10. Check the Allow box for the Full Control permission in the Permissions list box.

11. Click OK.

PowerHub and PetroBank MDS Related Issues

MDS Version
Release 2003.18.1.0 of Team Workspace has only been tested with version 2003.18.0 of
PetroBank Master Data Store (MDS).

Web Services of PowerHub

Team Workspace uses the web services of PowerHub to view or order data from a PetroBank.
Release 2003.18.1.0 of Team Workspace requires the 2003.18.1.0 version of the PowerHub web
services and server. For more information, consult your Customer Support Representative.

PowerHub Topic Data Type Mapping

When publishing PowerHub topics in Team Workspace, columns with an unknown data type are
ignored by the catalogue definition wizard. If data is expected, but not available within Team
Workspace, the metadata for the topic needs to be checked to see that the TYPE attribute is
defined for that column.

PetroBank Ordering
For PetroBank ordering, the user ID should not be blank before submitting an order. If it is, an
error will occur. In essence, the request is submitted but it fails to return anything. A blank user
ID will occur if the company has not set up a valid user ID. The form does not allow submission
of an order with a blank user ID.

Timeout Settings
When executing certain PowerHub queries or placing an MDS Order, users might see an
Operation Has Timed Out error message. This error occurs, because the queries have not
completed processing before the default HTTP connection timeout has been reached (causing a
broken pipe between Team Workspace and the PowerHub web service). Team Workspace
administrators can change the default connection timeout setting for data access and ordering by
adding the WSTimeout parameter in the PowerHub UDL connection string. The unit of the
parameter is in milliseconds.

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 18 of 24 January 2006

Intermittent error when placing an MDS Order
Sometimes when placing an MDS order, the following error message appears on the blue form
of the MDS order:
The following error(s) occured:
Failed to retrieve order 271130132 : Unable to get request
271130132Unable to retrieve values RmiConnectionImpl: Failed to find
attribute 13731
Please correct before continuing.

Due to the asynchronous processing of the order, it is possible that the order has not been
successfully processed before the URL of the MDS order is redirected. As a workaround, open a
new browser window, copy the URL from the existing browser, and paste it into the Address
field of the new browser window.

Preview Attachment Limit

The number of items that can be requested from the MDS preview web service is limited to
fifteen. This number can be altered by modifying the value for the
MdsPreviewAttachmentLimit key in Web.config. This file is located in the
\\FileServer\twsource\www folder. The key is found in the following section of
Web.config:
<!-- MdsPreviewAttachmentLimit
The number of items that can be requested from the MDS preview web service
-->
<add key="MdsPreviewAttachmentLimit" value="15"/>

Data Summary Contains Incorrect Characters

If Data Summary incorrectly displays non-alphanumeric characters, or special characters, you
should change the language setting in the Advanced Regional Options dialog (click the
Advanced button on the General tab of the Region Options control panel) in Windows 2000 or in
the Advanced tab of the Regional and Language Options control panel in Windows XP. The
setting should be changed to English for non-Unicode programs. (Issue # 614410)

Multi-language Display in Charts

To display non-English characters in the chart component, a Team Workspace administrator
must edit Web.config. This file is located in the \\FileServer\twsource\www directory.
The value for the ChartFont key must be assigned the name of a font that supports the
language to be displayed. The key is in the Chart Configuration Settings section
of the file. The chart supports only one font per workspace. This limitation is imposed by the
third-party charting component utilized in Team Workspace. For more information about
changing the font, see the Default Font in the Map and Chart topic in the Online Help.

Crystal Report Access and Limitation
An access denied error may occur when exporting data with the Crystal Report component. The
error occurs, because the user does not have access to the Temp folder where Crystal Reports
generates its reports. To resolve this problem, the Security tab of the Properties dialog for the
Temp folder must be changed. Check the Allow check box for the Modify permission for the
local Users group on each Team Workspace web server.

If the web servers are running in Windows 2000, the Temp folder is the
%SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\WebServerName\ASPNET\Local
Settings\Temp folder. This folder is created after a client launches Team Workspace.

If the web servers are running in Windows 2003, the Temp folder is the
%SystemRoot%\Temp folder.

Also, the Crystal Reports XI, Developer Edition, component has a limitation of three concurrent
users viewing the report.

MS XML Parser
When an XML parsing error occurs, the error might be caused by the Windows Automatic
Update function updating the parser to MS XML 4. If this occurs, try downgrading the parser
back to the minimum required for Team Workspace, MS XML 3, Service Pack 2.

Oracle Unicode Database Access

In order for Team Workspace to access Oracle databases using a Unicode (UTF-8) character set,
the Oracle 9i Client and Oracle 9i OLEDB Provider must be installed on each Team Workspace
web server. Also, catalogues based on an external database connection to an Oracle database
using a Unicode character set must be configured to use the Oracle 9i OLEDB Provider.

TWAdmin Console, Unicode Characters and Workspace Details

The TWAdmin Console is not Unicode compliant. Therefore, any changes made via the
TWAdmin Console will corrupt any non-ASCII entries made via Team Workspace in the
browser. If the workspace details are modified in the browser and if Unicode characters are
entered, and then if the TWAdmin Console is later used to perform any administrative tasks that
update those details, the Unicode data will be overwritten.

For example, the names of workspaces with Unicode characters may change after administering
the workspace with the Team Workspace Administration Console (TWAdmin.MSC). So when
users are added to a workspace through the Administration Console, the non-ASCII characters
may become question marks (?). (Issue # 631180)

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 20 of 24 January 2006

Workaround: The workspace name can be corrected on the Workspace Settings page
(Workspace > Administration > Workspace Settings).

Unicode, Catalogues, and non-Western European Character

Encodings
When the language specified in Team Workspace is non-Western European, Team Workspace
only recognizes Unicode encoded characters in files, specifically the 8-bit Unicode
Transformation Format (UTF-8). Problems may occur when uploading a catalogue definition,
when importing the contents of a catalogue from a file, or when using a file that contains the
exported contents of a catalogue. (Issue # 628237)

For example, if you are batch loading data for the internal catalogue, the CSV data file must be
encoded as UTF-8; otherwise, the Unicode data will not upload properly. Workaround: To insure
that the Unicode data will upload properly, open the CSV file in Windows Notepad, edit the file
to make sure that the values are properly quoted, and then select File >Save As. In the Save As
dialog, select UTF-8 in the Encodings drop-down list box, and click Save. The Unicode data
should properly import into Team Workspace.

Or, for example, if you are exporting the contents of a catalogue to text with a CSV extension,
the file may not import into Excel properly. Workaround: In Team Workspace, instead of saving
the file with a CSV extension, save the file with a TXT extension. Then, when importing the file
into Excel, select the text file type and specify the comma as the delimiter.

Language Resource Files and Unicode

When building language resource files that contain Unicode characters, the files must be saved
with Unicode encoding. If it is saved as normal ASCII text, the resource strings will not display
correctly in Team Workspace.

Catalogue Columns and Unicode

Various errors might occur when a catalogue contains column names that are in Unicode. For
example, an error occurs when uploading a file while adding a record to an internal catalogue.
(Issue # 721392)

Multiple Workspaces .NET Error

In this release, the .NET applications of Team Workspace have been moved to the workspace
directory. This change was made for better integration with the rest of Team Workspace.

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 21 of 24 January 2006

However, in Windows 2000, and with a Team Workspace site with multiple workspaces, you
may see the following error:
Failed to start monitoring directory changes

This problem occurs when Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) on a web server uses
another Windows 2000 server as a file server to hold content for the web site. For example, this
problem may occur when virtual directories for the web site use a UNC path to the file server.
When this problem occurs, the web servers may run out of resources.

To correct this issue, see the Windows Registry Changes for Windows 2000section in the
Team Workspace Deskstop Installation Guide. The procedure in that section is based on steps 2
and 3 in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;221790&sd=tech

Open Issues
139194, 177695, 615554 Back or Prev button in a page works inconsistently. For example,
the Prev button goes back two pages when it should only go back one
page. Or, for example, in one-to-many relations, sometimes the Back
button will go back more than view or may a window instead ofreturning
to the previous view.

174263 Real Data Type Column Search. When a real column search is executed,
the value searched is the full value (as stored in the database) and not the
entered value. For example, if the entered value is 18.1 the search might
be against 18.123451232910156 if this is the value stored in the database.

179637 Map. Sorted columns in a catalog, which are joined to a map, do not
display in the same sorted order with the map. The sort order is
determined by the data returned from the map service.

306862 Upload a File Attachment to an Internal Catalog. Sometimes uploading a

file to an internal catalog is unsuccessful. A Page Not Found error is
displays, and the file does not upload.

721048 Powerhub Single Sign-On. Paging errors when there are more than
twenty items for the Powerhub sign-on.

721392 Internal Catalogue and Unicode. If an internal catalogue is created against

a catalogue definition file that contains Unicode column names and a file
field, an error occurs when uploading files to the internal catalogue. This
issue only occurs if both the internal catalogue contains Unicode column
names and trying to upload a file to the catalogue. Records can be added

Team Workspace 2003.18.1.0 Release Notes Page 22 of 24 January 2006

if no file is uploaded. Files can be uploaded with the data record if the
column names are not in Unicode.
