Federation Galaxy class

Date of introduction: 2363

Hull: 68 boxes in 3 rows

Impulse Drive: Advanced 4
Warp drive: Yes

Weapons:
2 Photon Torpedo launchers
2 short range Photon Torpedo launchers
2 Phaser-3 batteries
5 Phaser-2 batteries
1 Phaser-1 battery
Fire Control systems: 4
Other equipment:
Superior Sensors

This ship, at the time of launch, was considered the

flagship design of the Federation's exploration fleet.
Designed mainly for peacetime exploration, not
war, the design has many features that increased its
size and cost to levels that would be considered
extravagant today.

Nonetheless, the ship is strongly armed and it can

take considerable damage before becoming combat
ineffective.
Federation Akira class
Date of introduction: 2371

Hull: 36 boxes in 3 rows

Impulse drive: Advanced 4
Warp drive: Yes

Weapons:
2 Photon Torpedo launchers
2 short-range Photon Torpedo launchers
1 Phaser-3 battery
4 Phaser-2 batteries
Fire Control systems: 3

This ship was introduced shortly after the Borg

Incursion, and incorporated many lessons learned
from that conflict. The ship removes some features
that were previously considered standard for
Federation ships. As a result, the hull is smaller
than prior standards would demand, and the ship is
more combat oriented.
Federation Excelsior class (refit)
Date of introduction: 2355

Hull: 39 boxes in 3 rows

Impulse Drive: Advanced 4
Warp Drive: Yes

Weapons:
2 Photon Torpedo launchers
2 short-range Photon Torpdedo launchers
1 Phaser-3 battery
4 Phaser-2 batteries
Fire Control systems: 3

This ship is a heavily refitted version of the original

Excelsior design, updated to modern standards. The
ship was essentially rebuilt from the keel up,
upgrading the old 4-row hull that was standard in its
original construction to a 3-row hull. The ship is
somewhat overgunned for its size and class.

Nonetheless, the class is expected to be in service for

the forseeable future.
Federation Nebula class
Date of introduction: 2367

Hull: 46 boxes in 3 rows

Impulse Drive: Advanced 4
Warp Drive: Yes

Weapons:
2 Photon Torpedo launchers
1 Phaser-3 battery
4 Phaser-2 batteries
Fire Control systems: 4
Other equipment:
Special Sensors.

This class was launched shortly after the Galaxy

class, and shares the same basic design
philosophies. It is a modular design, and large
sections of the hull may be removed to configure
the ship for various missions.

Shown is the most common version.

Federation Steamrunner class
Date of introduction: 2369

Hull: 18 boxes in 3 rows

Impulse Drive: Advanced 5
Warp Drive: Yes

Weapons:
1 Photon Torpedo launcher
2 Phaser-2 batteries
1 Phaser-1 battery
Fire Control systems: 2

This ship was introduced shortly after the Borg

Incursion, and reflects many of the design
philosophies of the Akira class. Intended to be a
more combat oriented vessel, it has proved to be a
very successful design.

Its increased manueverability over the standard

Star Fleet vessel has been highly praised by its
captains.
Federation Miranda class (refit)
Date of introduction: 2355

Hull: 14 boxes in 4 rows

Impulse Drive: Advanced 4
Warp Drive: Yes

Weapons:
1 Photon Torpedo launcher
1 short-range Photon Torpedo launcher
2 Phaser-2 batteries
Fire Control systems: 2

The Miranda class has been updated several times

over its long service life. These ships had been
mothballed prior to the Dominion War, and were
activated when Star Fleet pressed into service all
available hulls, no matter their age.

Its main weaknesses are the lack of advanced

screens, and 4-row hull. Nonetheless, they are a
useful supplement to more modern vessels,
although at the risk of a higher loss rate.
Federation Danube Runabout class
Date of introduction: 2368

Hull: 1 box
Impulse Drive: Gunboat class
Warp Drive: Yes

Weapons:
1 Phaser-R (360 degree)
1 micro-Photon Torpedo launcher (fore half)

Endurance: 6 Combat Endurance factors

The Danube class Runabout was introduced as a more

capable replacement for the standard warp
shuttlecraft. It has a modular design that allows it to
be configured for various missions. Shown here is the
most common version.

Runabouts are normally formed into squadrons of 3

or 6 when used in large battles.

Micro-Photon Torpedoes inflict 2 damage points to

the target, unlike their larger ship fired cousins.
Klingon Negh'Var class
Date of introduction: 2372

Hull: 48 boxes in 3 rows

Impulse Drive: Advanced 4
Warp Drive: Yes

Weapons:
2 Heavy Disruptors
11 Disruptors
3 Photon Torpedo launchers
Fire Control systems: 4

This ship was introduced in 2372 as a fleet flagship.

Its large size was intended to intimidate its enemies
as well as overwhelm them with superior fire power.

This vessel is somewhat inferior to the Federation

Galaxy class, which is it's closest competitor. It does
have good all arc firepower, which makes it a
hazardous vessel to approach at close range.
Klingon Du'Huk class
Date of introduction: 2380

Hull: 42 boxes in 3 rows

Impulse Drive: Advanced 4
Warp Drive: Yes

Weapons:
2 Heavy Disruptors
9 Disruptors
Fire Control systems: 4

This is a new vessel that incorporates the latest

technological advances. Utilizing borrowed
Federation screen technology, as well as a stronger
hull, it is a tough opponent.

The Du'Huk class is intended to substitute for the

Vor'Cha class as a command vessel, as well as to
serve in the battle line. It has a new weapons
layout, with the Heavy Disruptors having wider arcs,
and 3 360 degree disruptors give better side and
rear arc coverage.

Photon Torpedoes are less effective against this

class due to it's Federation-equivalent screens.
Klingon Vor'Cha class
Date of introduction: 2367

Hull: 33 in 3 rows
Impulse Drive: Advanced 4
Warp Drive: Yes

Weapons:
2 Heavy Disruptors
6 Disruptors
1 Photon Torpedo launcher
Fire Control systems: 4

This vessel, introduced in 2367, was intended to

form the bulk of the Klingon battle line. It
incorporated many new technologies, such as
advanced drives, and a new 3-row hull with
increased redundancy and robustness. Its main
weakness is the reduced firepower to the rear
flanks and aft arcs.

It is expected that refitted versions of this vessel

will appear in the near future, to accompany the
new Du'Huk class in the battle line.
Klingon Kvort class (refit)
Date of introduction: 2355

Hull: 27 in 4 rows
Impulse Drive: Advanced 5
Warp Drive: Yes

Weapons
2 Heavy Disruptors
3 Disruptors
1 Photon Torpedo launcher
Fire Control systems: 2

The Kvort class has had an long and illustrious

service life, but is rapidly becoming obsolete. It has
been upgraded several times, but it is beginning to
show it's age.

Its high manueverability and acceptable firepower

make it a good mid-range warship. Its main
weaknesses are it's older 4-row hull, restricted
Heavy Disruptor arcs, limited fire control capacity,
and weak rear flank and rear firepower.
Construction of this class has ceased, and it will be
gradually retired as new classes become available.
Klingon Ktinga class (refit)
Date of introduction: 2355

Hull: 12 in 4 rows
Impulse Drive: Advanced 4
Warp Drive: Yes

Weapons:
4 Disruptors
1 Photon Torpedo launcher
Fire Control systems: 2

The Ktinga class, like the Kvort class, has had an long
and illustrious history. Introduced in the late 23rd
century, it has served well, but has been relegated
to a second-line role. It has been upgraded several
times, but it is showing it's age.

Its main disadvantages are it's 4-row hull, limited

fire control capacity, and weak rear flank and aft arc
firepower.

Construction has long ceased, and the ships are

being retired in favor of continued attempts to keep
the class viable.
Klingon B'rel class (refit)
Date of introduction: 2355

Hull: 5 boxes in 4 rows

Impulse Drive: Advanced 6
Warp Drive: Yes

Weapons
1 Disruptor
Fire Control systems: 1

This class has the distinction of serving the Klingon

Empire longer than any other class. It has been
upgraded numerous times, but its viability in this
era is in doubt.

The B'rel normally functions alone as a scout and

raider, but is generally formed into 2-ship pairs for
larger battles. Its main advantage is high
manueverability. Its disadvantages include a
fragile 4-row hull, and no flank or rear firepower.

Due to the increasing size of warships in general, its

fragility and limited firepower have become serious
liabilities, and the class is likely to be retired in the
near future.
