Classroom Management Plan

Classroom Management Plan:

- My classroom management plan is designed to work as a guide for me
and my students. The plan will be used as a roadmap for our adventure
through History this year. In this plan we will find the procedures, classroom
arrangement, class rules, expectations and consequences for our classroom.
Classroom Arrangement:
- In our classroom we will have a seating chart in the beginning.
However, once I have learned all of your names and we have become
acquainted, we will reconsider the seating chart. Again, this will also only
happen if the behavior is suitable for the class.
- Our classroom will be both inviting and engaging. With that being said,
we will have rows, but I will do my best to create an environment that we can
carry our conversations without being blocked by the person in front of you.
- In the back of the room we will have our resource center. This will
contain multiple copies of the textbook, also we it will have other historical
resources for you to use throughout this year.
- My desk will be located in the front, left of the classroom.
Classroom Rules
- Rule #1: Do your very best, no matter what.
- Rule #2: Raise your hand before talking to the class. Do not interrupt
another student or me.
- Rule #3: Do not write/vandalize any of the desks. It is the schools
property, not yours.
- Rule #4: Stay in your seat until the dismissal of class.
- Rule #5: No texting or calling in class. You should follow the schools
policy on carrying cell phones.
- Rule #6: No cheating/plagiarizing.
Classroom Expectations:
- Always respect yourself, the teacher and your other classmates ideas,
opinions and answers. You may not agree, but I expect you to be respectful.
- Come to class prepared each day. Pencils should be sharpen and you
should always have your notebook.
- Always strive to be on time for class. If you are constantly late, without
a hall pass then we discuss consequences.
- Participation is expected. I want to know your ideas and how you feel
about certain topics. This helps me gauge how well I am teaching you the
material.
- If I am not clear on directions or if you are not learning the material
come speak with me. I hold you all to a high standard, you should hold me to
the same.
- Engage with each other at appropriate times. History doesnt have to
be boring, we can make it fun.
Classroom Procedures:
- When you walk in the classroom I expect you to get into your designed
seating area (unless told otherwise) and begin getting your supplies out
quietly.
- Once you are prepared for the class, look up to the board for a Bell
Ringer. If the board has a Bell Ringer on it, begin working on it quietly until
class starts. If there is not a Bell Ringer then sit quietly while I begin the
class.
- For bathroom breaks, one person will be allowed to exit the room to
use the restroom. However, you must fill out the hall pass.
- At the end of class, you are expected to stay seated until the bell or
myself dismisses you for your next period.
Consequences:
st
- 1 Offense: Verbal Warning
nd
- 2 Offense: Conversation with me after class
rd
- 3 Offense: A write-up
th
- 4 Offense: Referral to the Principal
