I am writing this letter to offer my recommendation for Paulino Tovar. I had the pleasure of having Paulino as a
student in my Advanced Placement United States History class during his Junior year as well as my Teachers
Assistant during his junior and senior years. Paulino is a young man who is hardworking, determined, and
disciplined. Paulino has matured during his high school career into a person with an enormous amount of
potential and energy.

As a student Paulino has maintained a 3.40 GPA during his high school career. Paulinos academic record displays
a willingness to learn and a desire to challenge himself by taking advanced placement classes in order to prepare
himself for college. Throughout Paulinos career as a student at Merced High School he has been very active on
campus whether its helping out his fellow students in class or as a member of the Merced High School football
program all four years. Not only is Paulino active on campus but is also very active in the community
volunteering his time at Merced Rotary Shrimp feed and at various community and church events. The fact that he
has been able to achieve academic success while also participating in extracurricular activities and volunteering
his time proves that he is a dedicated and motivated student.

After high school Paulino plans to attend university and major in Criminal Justice. Upon completion of university
Paulino plans to attend the Police Academy to realize his career goal of becoming a police officer. Paulino is
determined to achieve these goals and once he does he will be the first person in his family to have gone to
college, something that is very important to him because as a role model to his siblings he wants them to know
that with hardwork and dedication anything is possible. These are very admirable goals and show that Paulino is
dedicated to helping others.

His energy and work ethic are second to none and it is because of these reasons that I offer my highest
recommendation for Paulino Tovar. Any organization that chooses to offer admittance to Paulino will be pleased
with his diligence, commitment to service and willingness to complete any job to perfection. Should you have any
