Continue to pray for the Community Pregnancy Center of
Prescott and the work that they do. Pray for their ongoing
fundraising efforts for the Walk for Life, which will be on
Saturday May 13th. Also, pray for their continued effort to
make the Gurley Street location their permanent home.

Thoughts for Young Men by J.C. Ryle
Theres a reason this is the recommended book for the entire
congregation. This is one of those books that speaks to a
wider audience than the title suggests. Thoughts for Young
Men can teach us all about time and opportunity, sin and

Get to Know Canyon
For anyone who would like to know more about Canyon Bible
Church of Prescott, or considering church membership, we
will be having our next Get to Know Canyon Class on Sunday,
April 30th at Prescott High School after the worship service.
Lunch and child care is provided. If you would like to attend

Sunday, May 7th Service
On Sunday, May 7th there will be an evening worship service
in place of the normal morning service. Service time will be
5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Student Ministries
This upcoming Wednesday, April 26th, Student Ministries will
meetin the conference lounge of theStarbucks at Frontier
Village. All mid-high and high school students are encouraged
to come. They will meet from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Building Giving
Next Sunday, April 30th, is the fifth Sunday of the month and
giving is designated for the building project. Giving online for
the building will be open from April 28-May 5.
Short Term Mission Trips
There will be a brief meeting after todays service for anyone
interested on the upcoming STM trips. The meeting will be in
Mrs. Sobos classroom in the back of the auditorium. Dates
for the upcoming short term mission trips to Nicaragua are
August 19th-26th to Matagalpa & Chinandega and October
7th-16th to Managua & Ometepe.
Childrens Ministry
Starting today Childrens Ministry on Sunday morning will
go from infant to 3rd grade. 4th and 5th graders (along with
children of any age) are welcomed to attend the corporate
worship gathering.
Upcoming Conference
The Gospel Coalition, Arizona Chapter is hosting the Help Me
Follow Jesus conference June 9th & 10th in Phoenix. For more

and widows in their affliction. (James 1:27). Take some
time right nowto pray for the widows in our church
and then for the orphans in our church. Are there ways
you can serve or bless them this week or this month?
Can you take a minute to stop and encourage them on a
Sunday morning? How would Gods love for themlook, if
expressed through you?

Tuesday Thursday

Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we
do not lose heart, 2 Corinthians 4:1. The ministry to which
Paul is referring is the New Covenant gospel of Jesus Christ.
Paul, while fulfilling this ministry, was continually attacked. He
reacted by not losing heart, which refers to the abandoning
or surrendering oneself, but instead trusted in the Lord to
strengthen him. Pray that when attacks come, for proclaiming
the gospel of Christ, that you would not lose heart and trust in
the Lord for strength.
When we have sinned, we must beware three dangers
lurking in the shadows. First, the distracting danger of
excuses. I was tired. I couldnt help it. She started it.
Second, the gazing danger of focusing on ourselves
instead of Christ. Third, the private danger of believing
that nobody else understands what Im going through.
As a result, we keep our struggle secret, rather than
reaching out to close friends for the God-given grace of
comfort, accountability, and fellowship. Satan loves to jab
us with the hot poker of our sins, tempting us to smolder
in self-pity over our failures. Instead, take your gaze off
yourself and look to Christ. When you sin, dont let your
sinful heart make excuses. Simply carry your burden to
the Lord, No excuses God. I sinned. Forgive me. Then
remember 1 John 1:9. When we confess our sins, he
is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us of all
unrighteousness. Dont sit around focusing on yourself,
look to Jesus to give grace and be amazed that you are
forgiven. Finally, do not let the danger remain private. Drag
your sins into the light of fellowship with close believers,
and together, walk in new mercy each day.
