Procedures

Introduction Activating Prior Knowledge


The students will be asked, What have you learned
about rules? On a piece of chart paper placed at the
front of the room, I will write down the students

The book, Respect and Take Care of Things will be read
to the class as a wrap up to the unit. It addresses
respect, responsibility, and stewardship.

We will be making a video that shows why rules are

Procedure
The students will be preassessed during their practice
rounds when they verbally explain what they are going
to say in the video.
Modeling of the Concept
While filming of each student will be taking place in one
corner of the room there will be varies stations
throughout the rest of the space for the students to work
through at their own pace. The stations will include: an
iPad station, a music and movement station, a quiet
reading station, and an art station. All the activities in
each station will be about rules and safety, reflecting on
past lessons. All the of the stations will be modeled for
the class, explaining what each entail.
Guiding the Practice
The students will have the option of working in pairs or
independently as they move throughout the stations. A
limit will be set for each station based on the amount of
space there is. While the class is moving throughout the
stations, one by one a child will be pulled to the corner
to film for the classroom video. The video will contain
one clip of each student verbally explaining what rules
are and why they are important.
Providing the Independent Practice
The students will have the option to move from station
to station, working independently.
Transition
The students will be told to return back to their assigned
table based on the table colors. (red, blue, and yellow)
