Cyanide
Cyanides Original Source
Cyanides can both occur naturally or be man-made and many are powerful and rapid-acting
poisons. Hydrogen cyanide (HCN), which is a gas, and the simple cyanide salts (sodium
cyanide and potassium cyanide) are common examples of cyanide compounds.
There is a long history of famous cyanide poisonings, to the never-solved 1983 Tylenol
murders in Chicago.
Cyanide is a natural poison that also exists inside apricot pits and apple seeds, with traces in
lima beans, cassava and almonds. It is used to make paper, textiles, and plastics. Thats why
people can die from inhaling smoke containing cyanide during building fire, used in
chemicals to develop photographs, for electroplating and metal cleaning, removing gold from
its ore and exterminating vermin.
Toxicity
Cyanide has the toxicity of a high toxin. A person
could die within three days when taking in 0.36
grams of cyanide.
Symptoms
Cyanide has many symptoms that include:
General weakness
Confusion
Bizarre behavior
Excessive sleepiness
Coma
Shortness of breath
Headache
Dizziness
Vomiting
Abdominal pain
Seizures
Detections
There are many different ways that cyanide has been detected.
This detects by using water and food to trace poisons including cyanide. It
usually takes 3-8 seconds in water and 2-8 minutes in food.
Cure

History
- Hermann Gring was a German politician, military leader, and leading
member of the Nazi Party who died from a cyanide capsule after being
captured for a long time and only hours away from his hanging.
- Alan Mathison Turing OBE FRS was an English computer scientist,
mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst and theoretical biologist who
apparently committed suicide by injecting an apple with cyanide and then
biting the apple.
- Cyanide came about a natural way. For example, Cyanide is released from
natural substances in some foods and in certain plants such as cassava, lima
beans and almonds. Pits and seeds of common fruits, such as apricots,
apples, and peaches, may have substantial amounts of chemicals which are
metabolized to cyanide.
