CONCEPT

The solved side is drastically affected by historical

context and in current time has no defined an ex-
act function or even relationship to the city.

One of the aims was to create a clearly defined

space with an exact orientation towards to the PRODUCED BY AN AUTODESK EDUCATIONAL PRODUC
Governors Palace and a new art park. As a
resting place and a place for outdoor exhibitions,
or workshops.

The new building is placed on the edge of the plot

(Roosveltova street). This solution exactly defines
the space as a park with a more intimate char-
acter. The building itself is shaped as a gradually
rising mass towards the main part of the building,

which terminates the urban structure and, also, URBAN FABRIC
does not obstruct the view of the building from the
street or out of the park.

This horizontally oriented mass is further cut

through by paths and different kind of public spac-
es which serves to various functions.

Architecture and an appearance of the building is also

drastically influenced by the surrounding buildings.
The historical baroque building of the Governors Pal-
ace and the monumental traditionalist building of the
Janek Theatre create splendid and a monumental
environment.
The design of the new building creates horizontal and

vertical lines, that completes the monumentality of this
area but simultaneously a minimalistic appearance ac-
cepts a surroundings architecture and doesnt disturb
neighborhood.
