In his BYU Eeducation Wweek devotional in 2014, Elder David A. Bednar gave an incredible talk about how
various social media platforms are inspired tools that we can use to further the Lords work. He quotes more
than five prophets of this dispensation prophesying and expounding how the Lord is usingwho prophesy that the
Lord will use the advances in technology to hasten the work of salvation. He quotes, from Moses 7:59-62,
the vision Enoch had of the restoration of the gospel And righteousness will I send down out of heaven; and
truth will I send forth out of the earth, to bear testimony of mine Only Begotten . . . righteousness and truth
will I cause to sweep the earth as with a flood.

Elder Bednar states: I believe the time has come for us as disciples of Christ to use these inspired tools
appropriately and more effectively to testify of God the Eternal Father, His plan of happiness for His children,
and His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Savior of the world. Elder Bednar goes on to give multiple examples of how
the Cchurch is utilizing social media, and encourages us to participate. It is very His recommendations are
simple, and he provides guidelines for us: Be Aauthentic and Consistent . . . Edify and Uplift . . . Respect

As millennials we have been told that we are a marked generation, and for a very long time I wasnt sure how or add commas after each item.
why that was. After watching this devotional I felt that this our knowledge ofability to use social media and
sharingto share the gospel was one way we have been marked. On my mission we I shared the highlight clip of
Elder Bednars devotional with almost every member in onethe ward, and every time I watched it I felt the
power of this prophecy coming to life; I felt, and the potential for good we each have. We are those who will
take this truth throughout the world through social media channels. The Lord is hastening his work, and with
very little effort we can be a part of that. All it takes is for us to #ShareGoodness.
