This document is a summary of the presidents 2016 fiscal year budget request. In

this document there is a detailed plan on how NASA will use their rewarded funds

and how they compare the budget to the two previse years. It goes through each

division and subdivision of NASA, and explains where the money is being used. In

each section it also explains in detail on what the money will be used on and why.

This document comes from a government agency working with the Whitehouse on

a budget, giving it merit. It was created by both NASA and Whitehouse, and was

published to NASAs website along with other similar documents. The original

propose of this document was to show the law makers voting on the budget where

the money would go. The document was then posted to the general public so they

know where their tax money is going. This document is useful for my research

because it shows the some of the spending trends of the past few years along with

why the money is being spent. I will be using this in my final project because my

main argument is about NASAs budget.

Morring, Jr., Frank Can Commercial Smallsats Help NASA's Earth Science Program?

Aviation Week & Space Technology (2016): 1. This

peer reviewed academic article, published in Aviation Week, examines how

SmallSats can help NASAs earth science department. The article how cubesats

are used and deployed, the cost benefits of them, and how NASA can use them to

help save money in the decreasing earth sciences budget. Morring also examines

the current political effects of the new Trump administration and the possible future

of NASAs earth science department. Frank Morring Jr. is journalist that has been

working for 40 years, 20 of those being in the aerospace field. He is currently the

senior editor for Space, Aviation Week & Space Technology. The article being

peer reviewed and the authors credentials, gives the article merit. This article will

be useful for my paper but it is current and examines the current effects of NASA

earth sciences budget and how NASA try and deal with them. The article also

talks about the root causes of the problems this will also be useful in my final

project.

NASA Spinoff Technologies. Spinoff.nasa.gov Accessed 14 February 2017 This

NASA website is part of their Technology Transfer Program (T2), and shows off

notable and significant examples of how other people have used NASA technology

for other purposes. In this website you can also get access to NASAs patents and

software, that they used. The wide range of patents very from propulsion

technologies to biotech and even include environmental technologies. The

website also goes in depth about how some of these technologies have been

used. This website is a credible source because it is a government website and it

is part of a government program. All of the patents and software on the site comes

from NASA engineers and scientists, giving them credibility. The website will be

useful in my final project. The examples given in this website help support one of

my main arguments, that investment in science helps many industries and

improves our lives. This website is also proof of the amazing things that NASA

can accomplished.

Frank, Adam, A Spark of Hope For Climate Change Reality NPR, March 14, 2017

This commentary by Adam Frank on National Public Radio, is about the hope for a

changing political landscape when it comes to the issue of climate change. He

talks about the newly formed (Herzog), its growth and how it can help lead to

change in Washington when it comes to climate change. The author Adam Frank

is a contributor to NPR and is s professor at the University of Rochester. Frank is a

theoretical/computational astrophysicist and currently heads a research group

developing supercomputer code to study the formation and death of stars. The

authors credentials and NPR being the publisher, gives the article merit. This

article will be useful in my final project because it talks about the root cause of the

problem and how it is changing. This article is also very current, making it very

useful in my project.
