Deadlands Questionnaire

Its 1879, the US civil war ended 10 years ago in a stalemate which left both the usa and csa
lacking in resources, money and people. Its no mystery why people moved out west, hoping
to escape the horrors of war and start a new life. Youre one of them. In the boomtown of
Denver, the Ghostrock rush in 1860 drew many new faces, but just as quickly, they
disappeared. Turns out, they had been had. A conman by the name of Miles Gavin sold plots
of land, claiming ghost rock in the nearby mountains, but before people found the truth, he
was long gone.

Now, the people of Denver are left with no help, no support, and the usa and csa both
breathing down their necks to join them. Will you save your town you worked so hard to
build, or are you going to run like the rest of those cowards?

Try and answer All of these questions, as much as you feel comfortable but the more details
the better.

1. Lets get this one out of the way. Why are you here? Denver is nothing, Los
angeles is bigger and dodge city is far better if youre looking to satisfy your vices.
Did your parents bring you as a kid? Or did you come yourself? Where you from the
USA, CSA or disputed territories? Do you still feel loyal to your home?

2. What are your thoughts on the supernatural? Most folks dont know about the
horrors of the west, especially those back east but maybe you do, or at least have
some thoughts on it. Are you religious? Did your parents make you go to church or
did you skip out?

3. Do you have family? Everyone has Family, even if theyre no longer with us, so tell
me about them. How were your parents (if you knew them) Do you have any siblings?
Perhaps even a spouse and kids?

4. Whats your profession? Everyone has to make a living somehow, so how do you
pay the bills? Does your job give you good standing in the community or are you a
common criminal?

5. Whos your best friend? We cant all be alone out there, even a woodsman has a
confidant he sees every few months. so tell me, who do you trust? How did you get to
know each other? What are they like?

6. Whats your dream? Some people are satisfied with the day-to-day survival of the
frontier. Theyre born, they live, they get a pretty grave on the plains. Somehow I
think youre different thoughWhat do you want out of this short life? Whats your
goal to justify all this struggle?
