Eachteamcreatedtheirvisionforthegarage.Springfieldplannersusedelementsfromthestudents'
designsinthecontestsubmittaltoOregonBEST.

Winningorsharingtopcontesthonorscouldbringinupto$200,000fordesignandtesting,accordingto
OregonBEST.

ThetwootherteamsinthecontesthavedesignsforaengineeredwoodproductshomeinScappoose,andan
eightstory,mixedusebuildinginnorthPortland.OregonBESTisexpectedtoannouncethewinnerthis
month.

Grieselsaidaparkinggaragemadeofwoodwouldshowthepossibilitiesofcrosslaminatedtimber,and
inspiremorebuildingwithit.

Oftentimeswithnewideasforproductapplicationwearelittlewaryifwehaven'tseenitinaction,orsee
howitallfitstogether,shesaid.
