I.2.1 - Functions
The wash basins have two functions: the distribution of water and the dispensing of
soap.
I.2.2 - Controls
The controls for water distribution and soap dispensing differ, according to the type of
wash basin. There are two methods, mechanical and electronic.
a- Water distribution
Mechanical: Water is distributed by means of a knee control. The leg action operates the
opening and closing of the water supply. There is, therefore, no manual contact
with the controls.
b- Soap dispensing
A 230V electrical plug (earthed), used to connect the wash basin to the mains, must be
protected by a 30mA max. residual current device and placed at a distance in
compliance with current regulations.
An ultra low-voltage switch (18V) is positioned on the side of the wash basin. It can
be used to cut the power supply to the wash basin.

The wash basin does not need to be removed from the wall to carry out repairs:
Three screws are now holding the body to the frame on each side of the wash basin.
a - Description
The cell enables the presence of a hand to be detected. It then starts the pump and
delivers the soap.
The same process occurs for water distribution.
b Technical data
d - Warning
Make sure you have correctly wired the cell. The red and the blue wires connect to the
pump (or to the solenoid valve). It is important not to mix the wires, or the pump will
run backwards.

The housing must be fixed to a clean, dry surface using double-sided adhesive tape or
glue. To avoid problems caused by damp, it is highly recommended that the housing
be fixed with the wires facing downwards.
Operation
Mode 1 "bistable + tempo 1-10 min". This allows for the solenoid valve to be
activated for a period of 1 to 10 min to fill a basin. Change in the output state occurs
each time presence is detected.
Mode 2 "soap presence". This allows for soap to be dispensed, once presence is
detected, with a 30-second safety timer. The output is then deactivated and the
detector LED flashes. The standard operating mode is reset when detection ceases.
Mode 3 "water 3-15 s". This allows water to run in order to rinse the basin. There is
a comfort timer of between 3 and 15 seconds that is set by the potentiometer. After 30s
of continuous detection, the cell switches to a safety mode. The output is then
deactivated and the detector LED flashes. The standard operating mode is reset when
detection ceases.
Mode 4 "water 3-15 s + automatic flush". This is identical to the mode "water 3-
15s", but with an added timer that allows for a 3-minute automatic flush every 6 hours
of non-use. A 3-minute automatic flush occurs when the power supply is switched on.
Mode 5 "soap dosage". This allows the pump to be activated in presence mode, for a
time period set by the potentiometer from 0.5 to 3s, to dispense a single dosage of
soap.

Characteristics
The wash basin needs to be dismantled in order to adjust the cell. After following the
procedure outlined above, use a screwdriver to turn the potentiometer located on the
cell. Turn clockwise to reduce the detection distance and anti-clockwise to increase it.
a - Description
Only the Novoprene flexible tube of the peristaltic pump is in contact with the
disinfectant.
The pump is self-priming and will safely run dry.
b - Technical data
Reference: SR25
Average flow rate: 9 l/h
Power supply: 24 V DC

Disconnect the wash basin, remove the pump, disconnect the cables, install the new
pump, position the wiring in the same way (this is important for safety, ease of
dismantling, and body movement (polyester version)).
a - Description
The solenoid valve is powered by the infrared detection cell. It allows the water supply
to be opened and closed on the swan neck.
b - Technical data
Power supply: 24 V DC 10 %
Current: 0.39 A
Power: 9.5 VA
Disconnect the wash basin, close the water supply and then disconnect the wires to the
solenoid valve. Take out the valve, install the new one and reconnect.
VI 6.4. - Transformer 55 VA
a - Description
The transformer is moulded and placed in a plastic box. The 230 V input is via a
standard male jack. The cable is connected to the transformer. The 18 V output is a
cable that is connected to the on/off switch.
b - Technical data
Disconnect the wash basin and dismantle it (see above). Remove the wiring from the
transformer to the wash basin, install the new one and wire it in the same way.
Replace the wash basin, reconnect it and carry out a functional test.
The wash basins are of different shapes and have different configurations. As regards
the electrics, the connections are always the same. Only the transformer varies,
according to the load behind.
