To whom it may concern:

I am pleased to recommend Mackenzie Flaherty to you for employment as a new

graduate registered nurse. I was one of Mr. Flaherty faculty instructors while he was
enrolled in the Baccalaureate Nursing Program at the University of Arizona. I was
also his clinical instructor during the high acuity rotation in the Medical Surgical unit
and Critical Care Units at St. Josephs Hospital in Tucson, Arizona. During this
rotation, Mr. Flaherty provided excellent care for patients and their families. Both
his academic and clinical performance was excellent. He also was able to apply and
integrate theory into practice enhancing both her confidence and comfort in
providing care.

Mr. Flaherty is a hard, loyal worker and some of his strengths include the ability to
critically analyze problems, and present a possible solution. He has a very warm
and compassionate personality and gets along well with patients, families and his
peers. He eagerly accepts challenging situations and works diligently to have
positive outcomes. In addition, he quickly acquires new skills and once mastered, is
able to perform independently. He compassionately advocates on behalf of patients
and their families. He is a person who tends to approach situations with a positive
attitude and looks at the world with the glass half full attitude. He was able to
deliver independent, safe, competent nursing care to all her patients, including the
critically ill patients, with minimal supervision of the RN. I consistently received
positive feedback from his preceptors.

I support Mr. Flahertys application for employment as a nurse in his area of interest
as I believe he will make significant contributions to the nursing profession. He is a
bright, knowledgeable, and accountable student who is willing to work hard to meet
his goals. I believe he will one day be a leader in nursing. He has proven to be very
mature, a team player and supportive of others. Please do not hesitate to contact
me if you have questions regarding her qualifications.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Olivarez, RN, MSN
