BACKGROUND
============
The international ICT Summit is an annual event of the Institute of Finance Management (IFM)
in collaboration with the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT). The Summit aims to bring
together national and international stakeholders from ICT sector to share best practices in
developing an information society in the Republic of Tanzania. These stakeholders include
government institutions/agencies, NGOs, financial institutions, health centres, business
communities, researchers, academia, instructors and ICT experts/practitioners.

Among other issues, the Summit provides a platform for stakeholders to share knowledge and
experience on the use of ICT to nurture digital engagement in the national socio-economic
development. This years Summit emphasizes innovative ways of using ICT to reduce
unemployment by motivating digital entrepreneurship, transforming industries and establishing
new Tech companies. The Summit focuses on developing the linkage between ICT and industrial
revolution.

We welcome original, high-quality research contributions, industrial practices, and innovative


ideas that advance the state-of-the-art in the design, development, deployment, evaluation and
understanding of emerging ICT applications/solutions for revolutionize industries. Discussion on
future plans to promote the use of ICT in various development sectors to enhance their
competitiveness and productivity will be considered.
FORMAT OF THE SUMMIT
======================
The Summit will feature paper presentations, panel discussions and exhibitions of innovative
ICT solutions from students in higher learning Institutions, Incubators, and experts from
industries. The event will be for two days and participants will present their papers, exhibit novel
solutions and network with other experts. At the end of the Summit a panel session will be held
to sum up the major findings and contributions of the event.

SUBMISSION AND REVIEW DETAILS

We encourage submissions from researchers and practitioners from academia and industry. Full
papers should not exceed 6 pages, using IEEE format, describing original work or a position
paper. Extended abstracts (also suitable for practitioners presentations) should not exceed 4
pages including introduction, body of knowledge and conclusion, supported by not more than 10
references. For exhibition of a novel ICT solution, a brief summary of the solution should not
exceed 2 pages detailing technical aspects of the solution, its rationale, and key beneficiaries.

Papers, extended abstracts and summaries of novel ICT solutions must be submitted as an
attachment to dennis.lupiana@ifm.ac.tz or zanifa.omary@gmail.com, marked as paper, abstract
or summary respectively. The submissions should be in Adobe Portable Document Format (.pdf)
or a Word Document Format (.doc) only. All papers will be fully reviewed by at least two
reviewers and before final acceptance all reviewers' comments must be considered.
Selected full papers, extended abstracts and novel ICT solutions will be published in the Summit
proceedings. An electronic version of the Summit proceedings will be published online at the
Summit Website. At least one author of a selected paper and an extended abstract, and a novel
ICT solution MUST register to attend the Summit in order to present the paper and the abstract,
and exhibit the novel solution respectively.

JOURNAL PUBLICATION OPPORTUNITY

Few selected papers will be considered to be published in a special issue of the International
journal of ICT Research and Development in Africa (IJICTRDA).

Notification of acceptance/rejection: July 28, 2017
Camera-ready submission: August 14, 2017
