Leadership

Hello my name is Rita, I am the representation of all the states of the woman I was a young

mother of two wonderful children, a widow, a victim of domestic violence and now I am happily

married to a wonderful husband who supports me in all my ideas, Idea of returning to school, to

recognize my strengths and my weaknesses through this class helped me to understand the sacred

mission that a leader has not only guide others by his example but also make others grow and be

successful and the importance of Work in groups.

Below are 10 values of which some are commented by Gallup and others in which I need to

work and these are: Achiever According to Gallup Your Achiever theme helps explain your drive. Achiever
describes a constant need for achievement. You feel as if every day starts at zero. By the end of the day you must

achieve something tangible in order to feel good about yourself. And by every day you mean every single day

workdays, weekends, vacations. No matter how much you may feel you deserve a day of rest, if the day passes

without some form of achievement, no matter how small, you will feel dissatisfied. You have an internal fire burning

inside you. It pushes you to do more, to achieve more. After each accomplishment is reached, the fire dwindles for a

moment, but very soon it rekindles itself, forcing you toward the next accomplishment. Your relentless need for

achievement might not be logical. It might not even be focused. But it will always be with you. As an Achiever you

must learn to live with this whisper of discontent. It does have its benefits. It brings you the energy you need to work

long hours without burning out. It is the jolt you can always count on to get you started on new tasks, new

challenges. It is the power supply that causes you to set the pace and define the levels of productivity for your work

group. It is the theme that keeps you moving. Learner: Is one of the most precious things I have ever tasted in

my life, especially in the college I felt overwhelmed day by day with all the knowledge that comes from diverse

sources: tutors, teachers, advisors, classmates, new friends, and leaders etc. I was very young when I took the

responsibility to be a wife and a mother, I hardly change my dreams to pursue a career from being a homemaker.

Furthermore, my learning experience in United States was very accessible no matter the financial issue always could

find the way to learn. In my personal experience learning is the most wonderful thing. I love to learand develop my
Anderson 2

personal goals oriented to take control of my learning experience at the Salt Lake Community College. Im a

motivational learner who flows with internal energy. My study permanently changes my behavior through

knowledge, instruction and study.Intellection: According to Gallup I like to think. You like mental activity.

You like exercising the muscles of your brain, stretching them in multiple directions. This need for mental activity

may be focused; for example, you may be trying to solve a problem or develop an idea or understand another

persons feelings. The exact focus will depend on your other strengths. On the other hand, this mental activity may

very well lack focus. The theme of Intellection does not dictate what you are thinking about; it simply describes that

you like to think. You are the kind of person who enjoys your time alone because it is your time for musing and

reflection. You are introspective. In a sense you are your own best companion, as you pose yourself questions and

try out answers on yourself to see how they sound. This introspection may lead you to a slight sense of discontent as

you compare what you are actually doing with all the thoughts and ideas that your mind conceives. Or this

introspection may tend toward more pragmatic matters such as the events of the day or a conversation that you plan

to have later. Wherever it leads you, this mental hum is one of the constants of your life. Honesty: I learned this

value since I was a little child. I was three years old when my parents went through a divorce. Then I grew and was

raised in a convent with nuns who, every single day, taught me about the importance of been honest and integrity in

all aspects of my life even in my thought. Also, because I come from Peru, The Inca principles have three important

precepts in Quechua are: AMA SUA (do not be a thief) AMA LLULLA (do not be a liar) AMA QUELLA (do not be

a lazy). if we make honest and ethical behavior a key value, our team will follow us suit and we become trustworthy

everywhere.Self Confidence, I learn through many leadership classes in Peru and United States, if you
believe in yourself the sky is the limit. How I exercise my influence to others with my responsible and positive

behavior it is something I keep working on. This helps me deal with stress and anxiety. I know I can do it; that is

what runs through my mind most of the time when I have a project to do. This gives me strength in my dilemma.

Learning to self-confidence myself is as important as others learning to trust me. Responsibility: At age of

fourteen, I was up at 6.00 a.m. every morning preparing breakfast for my five siblings and taking them at school

with me. Mon wanted me learn the responsibility of my family, to know what a commitment is, and learn how to

handle my time wisely at an early age. She told me that if I wanted a family when I was old, I had to practice with

my siblings. Mom, of course, helped here and there when I needed it. She taught me the satisfactorily feelings after
Anderson 3

performing and completing a task. She made me create my own promise, and my perspective on life has changed

significantly. Reflecting on my childhood and who my Mom is, my appreciation has grown immensely, and I can

only hope to be half as responsible as she is. The things she taught me grow and stay with me forever.Positive:

By nature, Im a Positive, Most of the time I find myself thinking positive and talking about keeping positive

attitude this is one of my best strength I could past out to my friend family and classmates. Believe in your dreams

demand stand up and keep up not fail, even if I fail I lean from that experience. Keep the energy levels up.

According to Gallup You are generous with praise, quick to smile, and always on the lookout for the positive in the

situation. Some call you lighthearted. Others just wish that their glass were as full as yours seems to be. But either

way, people want to be around you. Their world looks better around you because your enthusiasm is contagious.

Lacking your energy and optimism, some find their world drab with repetition or, worse, heavy with pressure. You

seem to find a way to lighten their spirit. You inject Respect: My father taught me to earn respect throughout my

life and taught me how important it is to have a great respect for our accomplishments, respect for mother nature,

environment, persons and animals. He also taught me about the golden rule: Treat others the way would you like to

be treated. and he mentioned self-respect is pretty important. The way you treat yourself, your body, what you make

known to the public, make it reputable. You will never gain respect from others if you dont first respect yourself.

He taught me to value those things, and to never lose sight of the respect that I deserve. I love America in this way,

people here are very respectful in all ways.Empower Although people doesnt through the strength they have.

For me it is one of the most important trust, because with this strength I do have the opportunity to change peoples

attitudes and beliefs, not just their outward behavior. Thats the sweet spot when it comes to influence and the ability

to get people to fully accept my message and change their attitude accomplished been success. Most important, trust

provides the opportunity to change peoples attitudes and beliefs, not just their outward behavior. Thats the sweet

spot when it comes to influence and the ability to get people to fully accept my message and change their attitude

accomplished been success.Gratitude, in my early years I knew been grateful in every circumstance we can

experience: even gentle peace in the midst of tribulation. In grief, in pain, in the cold of bitter sorrow we can still lift

up our heart in gratitude. We sometimes think that being grateful is what we do after our problems are solved, but

how terribly shortsighted that is. How much of life do we miss by waiting to see the rainbow before we know that

there is rain. Every morning I express my gratitude in silent prayer.stress and anxiety. I know I can do it; that is what

runs through my mind most of the time when I have a project to do. This gives me strength in my dilemma.

Learning to self-confidence myself is as important as others learning to trust me. Input According to Gallop Im

are inquisitive. You collect things. You might collect informationwords, facts, books, and quotationsor you

might collect tangible objects such as butterflies, baseball cards, porcelain dolls, or sepia photographs. Whatever you

collect, you collect it because it interests you. And yours is the kind of mind that finds so many things interesting.

The world is exciting precisely because of its infinite variety and complexity. If you read a great deal, it is not

necessarily to refine your theories but, rather, to add more information to your archives. If you like to travel, it is

because each new location offers novel artifacts and facts. These can be acquired and then stored away. Why are

they worth storing? At the time of storing it is often hard to say exactly when or why you might need them, but who

knows when they might become useful? With all those possible uses in mind, you really dont feel comfortable

throwing anything away. So you keep acquiring and compiling and filing stuff away. Its interesting. It keeps your

mind fresh. And perhaps one day some of it will prove valuable. This is one of the most influence in my entire life, I

been taught by leaders in my original country the importance to exceed the expectation. Make more than others, be

the difference, be very good, stand out, be an inspiration to other who follow me. Go the extra mille in everything I

do. It is very rewarding. Sometimes smile sincerely and grateful make us happy could be very rewarding after

excellent preforms. All these values grew more in United States my loving country. By emphasizing these standards,

and displaying them myself, I will hopefully influence the environment at Salt Lake Community College into a

friendly and helpful study and workspace. Did you rremember your dreams of children is never

late fight hard to make them reality, without compromising your values or your integrity. My

future is insured, the only thing that we bellowing it is our my present and therefore I try every

day to live it intensely, without lamentations for the past, without fears of the future, with the

heart full of faith looking forward and thanking every day the experience of To be in this

wonderful country, that is my country, that I cover myself with love in the most difficult

moments of my life, I can also say that I am grateful for all the good and bad that could happen

to me because of them I am the person that I am now . Thanks to the teacher, so intelligent to

have all of us captivated with her knowledge of the subject, and has given a big turn to my life,
Anderson 5

now I understand that we all have a mission in this life, and that we must apply everything

learned in This class in our daily interaction.
