MULTI-MEDIA AUTHORING TEMPLATE

Name: Kevin Ellery

PART A: Students will create a movie regarding how to find a midpoint of a segment. The movie will be between 2 to 3 minutes
in length and give images, video and audio for this. After this is completed, it will be posted on a classroom website in which it
can be viewed by other classmates and parents.

Grade Level: 9-12

Content Area: Geometry
Technology Used (check all that apply): Movie Audio Podcast Vodcast Other: (list)

Content Area/Grade/Standards/Topics Addressed: MM1G1-C Determine the midpoint of a segment. Grade 9-12.

Brief Description of Learning Experience: Students will have been given a lesson regarding line segments and how to find
the midpoint in previous class. I will then explain the parameters of the video. What is expected and also when it is finished to be
posted to the class website. There should be examples that are worked out in the videos and they are to relate this to a real life
situation. The intended audience will be classmates and parents. Students work will be assessed by their peers.

Student Engagement/Higher-Order Thinking: What LoTi level would this lesson be and Why? LoTi level would be a 4
because students are generating their own content and sharing it with others.

Importance of technology: Multimedia tools are critical to this lesson, because without them it would be much more difficult
to create and edit a video. The project could be completed without this technology but it would be a lot more work and time
consuming

Inspiration (optional): If you used existing multimedia projects as a model for your project (whether in part or whole),
include the URL(s) so we can visit. Explain what concepts you borrowed from others.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: Briefly discuss some possible issues surrounding internet safety and student
privacy that could arise while implementing this learning experience and explain how youd minimize risks to
students/yourself, alleviate any fears by parents/administrators, and follow school districts Internet Safety/Use Policy.
Students would not be posting to an outside website, so it wouldnt be made available to outside sources, however still would not
have students use their full names and have them refrain from including images of themselves.
