ADMISSIO OTICE 2010-11


No Entrance test (examination) shall be conducted for admission to
the various diploma courses for the year 2010-11. However,
admission will be purely on the basis of merit as per marks
obtained in class 10th or 10+2 pattern or equivalent examinations.

1 DIPLOMA COURSES

i) Diploma in Electronics & Comm. Engg. - 60 seats


ii) Diploma in Computer Science & Engg - 60 seats.
iii) Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engg - 60 seats.
iv) Diploma in Modern office Procedure (CP) -30 seats.

2. RESERVATION OF SEATS

(a) 15% and 7 ½ % seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates


respectively in all diploma courses.

(b) One seat each is reserved for the wards of BSF widows in all
courses.

(c) One seat each reserved for the wards of IB personnel in all
courses except in Commercial Practice.

(d) One seat each for wards of State Police personnel of each of
the State Police organisation of J&K, Punjab, Assam,
Karnataka, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram and
Nagaland is reserved in any one of the course except for
Commercial Practice. The course in which this quota is
allotted for each of the above State Police organisation shall
be decided on the merit and option of the candidates.

(e) If the reserved seats are not filled up under a particular


category then the same may be filled up out of general
category of BSF Wards.

3. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS: -
(a) DIPLOMA IN ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION
ENGG. COMPUTER SCIENCE ENGG. AND
ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGG.

(i) Candidates should be wards of serving/deceased


/retired BSF personnel/BSF Private Fund
Employees, personnel of IB/State Police personnel
of J & K, Punjab, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya,
Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram and Nagaland states.
Dependent Blood relatives of serving BSF personnel
are also eligible. However, their admission will be
at the discretion of the Competent Authority.

(ii) Candidates should have passed Class X or 10+2


pattern or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of
55% in Science and Maths and overall minimum
aggregate of 45% in one sitting in respect of
admission in ECE and CSE and with a minimum
aggregate of 50% in Science and Maths and overall
minimum aggregate of 45% for admission to EEE
course. Candidates belonging to SC and ST should
get minimum aggregate of 40% in science and
maths and overall minimum aggregate of 40%.

(iii) Candidates should be between the age of 15 years


and 21 years as on 1st Oct 2010. Upper age limit in
respect of SC and ST candidates is relaxable by 5
years.

(b) DIPLOMA IN MODERN OFFICE PROCEDURE (MOP)/


COMMERCIAL PRACTICE (CP)
(i) Candidates should be wards of serving / deceased /
retired BSF personnel/BSF Private Fund
Employees. Dependent Blood relatives of serving
BSF personnel are also eligible. However, their
admission will be at the discretion of the
Competent Authority.

4. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: -

(a) Admission to all the course will be on the merit according to


the marks obtained in class X or 10+2 pattern or equivalent
examination. If no eligible candidates are available for the
reserved seats, these seats will be treated as unreserved.

(b) Candidates selected for admission shall have to produce


following testimonials in original at the time of admission
otherwise their seat will be filled up next in the merit:-
(i) Mark sheets of class X or XII as the case may be,
along with certificate, provisional certificates of
having passed the class issued by the concerned
school.

(ii) They should bring their transfer certificates from their


respective school/college last studied. (No provisional
certificates, Migration certificate is accepted by DTE.
Karnataka)

(iii) Certificates of health issued by Medical Officer or


registered Medical Practitioner. Candidates should
not suffer from any chronic disease.

(iv) Character and Antecedent certificate issued by the


School/college last attended.

(v) SC/ST certificate issued by the Appropriate


Authorities in the case SC/ST candidates.

(c) Hostel facility is available for students as per availability.


2nd year and 3rd year students will be provided hostel facility
only if their discipline state confirms to the standard
prescribed by the Institute. They will not get hostel
accommodation automatically in the II and III year due to
shortage of accommodation. PT and evening sports is
compulsory for all hostel students including II and III year
students. They have to give an undertaking in this regard.
Messing / hostel charges of the students of diploma courses
will be borne by the parents, irrespective of their rank except
for the wards of widows which will be met out of Central
Education Fund. The hostel facility will be withdrawn if the
ward commits any serious indiscipline act.
(d) FEE STRUCTURE :-
(i) Quarterly Tuition fee will be charged as under :-

Fee required to pay by with in 15th of July, Oct, Jan and March every Quarterly.

ii) The collection of fee from the wards will be on


quarterly basis. Wards of widows will not be charged
tuition fee and other charges remain same as mentioned
Para (d) above.Rs.2000/- as IT security money and Rs.
2000/- as mess security advance (both refundable) from
boarders will be charged at the time of admission.
Boarders will be charged table money, water charges,
Electricity Charges and room rent & Mess Maintenance
charges as per details given below :-

*Mess Charges likely to change marginally from time to time.

iii) Fee will be levied for whole year i.e. 12 months. In case
of withdrawal of students after admission or in the Mid
session from Institute, fee for one semester (six months)
will be charged.

iv) In addition to above, training and placement fees will also


be charged as under:-

(aa) II Year - Rs. 500/- PA


(bb) III Year - Rs. 1000/- PA
(cc) Internet fees Rs.10/- PM for I, II and III year.

Note :- Serving BSF personnel are entitled for claim of


CEA/Hostel subsidy i.e. CEA Rs. 12000/- per year (Day scholar)
or hostel subsidy Rs. 36000/- per year (Boarder) of his wards for 1st
and 2nd year if his wards joined Technical Institute after passing
10th class examination. CEA/Hostel subsidy claim entitled for two
children only.

(e) UNIFORM :
(I) Class Uniform Girls- Light blue Kameez, White
salwar, white Duppatta & Black Shoes.
(ii) Class Uniform Boys- Light blue shirt (half
sleeve), Navy blue trouser, Navy blue tie, Black belt
and Black shoes.
(iii) Navy Blue Apron - only for EEE candidates.

(Uniform cloth will be available in the STC canteen any change in


shade of colour in uniform brought from home will not be allowed
to wear in the class to keep uniformity. The uniform can be stitched
from out side or from BSF canteen Tailor.)

(f) The selected candidates will bring with them following
items of bedding, clothing etc for their own use in hostel: -

(v) White Pillow cover - 2 Nos

(ix) Other clothing/bedding items as per requirement
(X) Navy blue track suit - 1 Pair (Boys / Girls)

(Any one not in possession of the above said items will not be allowed to
join the classes. These items must be kept in good condition/ replaced till
they complete the diploma. However day scholars students need not bring
these items. Stainless steel compartmental plate, fork and spoon will be
purchased from the STC canteen to maintain the uniformity).

(g) OTHER ITEMS :

(i) Drawing Instrument box/Mini drafter. - for candidates


opting for Electrical and Electronics branch.

(ii) Scientific Calculator.

05. Since some of the students get the amount from parents and spend
it and pay the fee with huge fine hence all the fees will be paid by the
parents directly. The parents can pay the entire yearly fees in advance in
1st semester itself. Especially the exam fees, Student will not be given
permission for paying exam fees till they clear tuition fee / hostel fees. If
they fail to pay the exam fee in due time, they have to go to DTE and pay
the exam fees with fine and the fine is as follows:-
a) Full exam fee - Rs 350/-
b) Part exam fee - Rs 250/-

06. Parents are advised to pay the fees direct to the office in the form
of DD payable at SBI Air Force Station Yelahanka (2187) in favour of
Adm Officer, BSF IT Bangalore. This can be done every year thereafter.
We are having a Student Fund. The parents can deposit the amount by
DD which will be handed over to the ward whenever he / she needs as per
requirement for fee / hostel fees and for pocket money. Parents can open
Bank Account at SBI Air Force Station, Yelahanka or ATM Card can be
provided as Two ATM available with in campus i.e one SBI and one
AXIS Bank.

07. Applications for admission of above diploma courses in the


prescribed proforma enclosed at Appendix ‘A’ duly counter signed by the
Commandant after proper scrutiny should reach to the Adm Officer, BSF
INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLGY, STC BSF Campus, PO : Yelahanka
AFS, Bangalore – 560 063 by 5th June 2010 with DD Of Rs. 50/- as
application form fee in the favour of Adm Officer, BSF IT, Bangalore
payable at State Bank of India AFS(Code-2187). The application
received after the due date or incomplete forms will not be entertained.
Last date for submission is fixed by Karnataka State Govt. If results of
exam (Xth class) are not announced by respective State Govt, this
Institution will not be in any position to entertain any late receipt of
application. All the seats will be filled on the above said date and
intimated to the Karnataka State DTE.
7. Mobile phones are not permitted in Schools/Polytechnic/Colleges
in Karnataka as per Directorate of Technical Education, Government of
Karnataka State.
8, Parents of all girl students are requested to furnish the details of the
local guardian if any giving details of their address and telephone No.
Girl students are not permitted to go on night out pass until personally
requested by parents.
