2.4 Methodology
Methods followed to develop this library information chatbot has been
described below.

2.3 Testing
Requests and responses are the two major parts that were
tested for tracking the relevance and efficiency of the library
information chatbot. A continuous request by the user and
response by the chatbot was taken under observation and
errors and inconsistencies were found and fixed. During testing,
many users also had been connected and requests had been
sent simultaneously to check the handling of the load by the
chatbot whether it behaves properly to such huge number of
requests at the same time. On the server side, various
information regarding the user is stored to differentiate one
user from the other. This is differentiated using a unique ID
generated by Facebook and sent to the server to store it in the
database. The server also tracks user current actions based on
its unique ID.

3.2 Discussion
The interface of the chatbot on messenger platform
engages end users and provides them an interactive
environment for gathering the essentials. There is no
breakage in the flow of conversation as it involves
repetitions after the whole conversation comes to an
end. The persistent menu provided with the chatbot
work as a shortcut to start the desired conversation
with the bot. This continuous flow makes it user-
friendly. The whole discussion is to provide a user-
friendly chatbot to procure required information of
library by the user.
4.1 Conclusion
We implemented information based system on a
chatbot efficiently which gives easier availability of the
information to the end users. The most eye-catching
feature of the chatbot is that it is integrated on the
popular Facebook messenger platform. Due to which it
is accessible to most as social networking is a part of
ones life in todays world. As it comes integrated with
facebook messenger, no extra space is required in the
smartphone for the chatbot. Since we are primarily
focussing on students this is really going to be a cool
and handy tool to access essentials of library and its
resources. It is not just a conversational chabot that
includes texts but it also includes pictures, buttons,
sliders to make it really interesting and exciting.
Interactive design engages users to enjoy the essential
information they need.
4.2 Future Scope
This bot was mainly focussed on a college level library
information system. But the big picture can be seen as
follows:
Centralized Public Library System where people can
directly access any research related works, e-books, e-
journals, e-thesis etc. It can be build considering our
library chatbot as a building block of it. A similar
platform like facebook messenger platform can be
developed and database can be stored on cloud
servers.
 Updates from facebook for chatbot on messenger
platform can be used to enhance the interfaces and
improve the efficiency of the chatbot.
Other platforms such as Slack, Kik Messenger,
Telegram etc also allow developers to develop chatbot
on their platforms. So, other messenger platforms can
be used to expand the chatbot to make it accessible to
everyone.
