Climate Impacts on Agriculture and Food Supply. EPA, Environmental

Protection Agency, 6 Oct. 2016, www.epa.gov/climate-impacts/climate-

impacts-agriculture-and-food-supply. Accessed 12 Mar. 2017.

With climate change happening, EPA state that the change in our

climate would impact agriculture and our food supply. One major effect is

the impact in our crops. Though some of the changes can benefit crops

growth, if the plantation gather more than need or less, like drought,

floods, CO2 increase, can lead to shortage of crops. The EPA also claim

that this impacts livestocks. For example increase heats waves can cause

our livestocks to get heat stress which result in diseases and reduced milk

production. Not only that epa claim that climate change can impact

agriculture and livestock, it also impact fisheries and internationally.

January 2017 was third-Warmest January on record. NASA, NASA, 15 Feb. 2017,

climate.nasa.gov/news/2550/january-2017-was-third-warmest-january-on-

record/. Accessed 12 Mar. 2017.

Nasas Goddard Institute for Space Studies claim after years, being

decades, of Research that January in 2017 was the third warmest

January. After hundred years of studying the hottest temperatures come in

recent decades, top two being 2016 and 2007. The Institute provided a

graph showing an anomaly relating the different decades over the 130

years that have been measured as well showing where 2017 stands. What
this graph also shows is that the coolest years were the 1800s and with

every decade is increasing rather quickly than it should.

What Climate Change Means for Arkansas. EPA, EPA, Aug. 2016,

epa.gov/sites/production/files/2016-09/documents/climate-change-ar.pdf.

Accessed 12 Mar. 2017.

EPA predicts that Arkansas would warmer and will more floods and

droughts. What the EPA notices that even though that Arkansas is not

necessarily getting warmer over the 50 to 100 years but instead we are

getting more hot days as well more heavy rainfall. This Article states that

with climate change the southeast would have an increased chance of

heavy rainfall thus can result in severe floods. The Agencies notice a

trend, since 1958 the amount of rainfall increase 27 percent. The Agency

also state that with the rainfall we would also have increase drought

especially in the summer and spring. With this occurring, climate change

would have a sever impact with nature as well human health.

This website purpose is to tell the reader what climate change is. It states

that climate means average weather. The website states that climate

patterns plays a role in shaping the natural ecosystem, and the human

economy and culture. The website also use a report title Preparing for a

Changing Climate telling that us that increase levels of carbon dioxide

and other greenhouse gases is getting the Earth to be warmer as well

impacting other things. The website also state that since many systems

are tied to the climate where if climate change occurs it can affect how we

live ,as other flora and fauna, and even the availability of water.

Washington State Department of Ecology says we as humans need to

reduce the speed at which climate change is occurring by reducing

greenhouse gases.
