Why did you choose your primary source document?

The purpose of choosing this assignment is to investigate the first

documented case of human activism and to research the purpose of why and

how Bartolome De Las Casas chose to confront the Spanish monarchy and used

Religion to protect and aid Natives.

Did you learn anything surprising in the course of studying your document?

The discovery of how Bartolome De las Casas, Just a Dominican Catholic

friar did everything within his grasp just by using his religious beliefs to defend

and protect a nation of natives who lived in the Americas in the location of

Chiapas, Mexico.

What did you learn about the discipline of history while writing your Primary

Source paper?

Learning from the discipline of history, I understand Bartolome De Las Casas

actions and his attempt to protect the Indians from the spanish explorers was an

act of courage and human activism with confronting the spanish monarchy about

the horrendous and disagreeable acts that have been committed without their

knowing or authority. Granting bartolome De las casas to convert them to the

catholic religion and gain members to the catholic church.

If you could have spent a week studying just one topic from the class, what would

it have been and why?

If I could have spent a week studying for just one topic from the list that

was presented class, the topic would have most likely been Social security, I

would have hated it at first but I would have gain more knowledge and

information from it while attempting to have fun researching and looking up

more information social security act and how it actually works with benefits the

elderly.

What is one thing (or skill) you learned from the class that might be helpful in

your future?

One skill that I have learned and will adapt to assist in the future is to stay

motivated and staying ahead. history holds many undiscovered secrets that are.

It only takes a day to find the right information and to write it down on paper, but

procrastination may come into the picture and take away the motivation.
