12. While reading a grain we would like you to keep the cursor moving once in a
while or else you would be timed out. This would not allow you to login for the
next twenty minutes again. The same would happen if there is a power failure or
you do not logout properly i.e. first Close the content window and then Logout
on Mypage. Please see the screenshots in the attached file which would make this
clearer to you.
If you Logout but the previous page as shown above is not closed you would again lock
your account for 20 minutes.
This autologout feature, some of you may find as an irritant is the automatic logout and
subsequent forced gap of 20 minutes before the next login. This feature is in your interest
and has been incorporated to protect our IPR as well as to ensure that you get your
minimum allotted hours. To prevent unauthorized use, this course allows only one login
by any user at any time. Suppose a user is logged in and because of power failure or even
temporary loss of net connectivity or any other hardware related problem, is not able to
logout properly, or even if he/she forgets to logout at the end of the session, the
CEPGlobe server would consider him/her as on-line. There is no way for the server to
think otherwise. It is for this that we presume that a 20 minutes inaction at the client side
means that the user has lost connection. The user is then logged out automatically. The
present internet technology enforces a lock-in period of same duration before the next
login. This is an internal feature of the technology and we have not been able to change
it. This means that if the idle time before which automatic logout is enforced is extended
to say 60 minutes, after such a logout, the waiting period till the login is allowed again
will be 60 minutes as well. If this has to be reduced, the autologout criterion will also
have to be reduced. This is a catch20 situation and we have arrived at 20 minutes for
autologout considering that each grain would take about 10 minutes of reading affort. The
concept of a grain actually ensures some activity every 10-15 minutes. The problem is
when a grain requires you to open a .pdf file for examples etc and you take more time to
go through these examples and the CEPGlobe page in the background expires. These are
few occasions where the .pdf is a long file. Please be extra careful on such occasions and
ensure some click on the CEPGlobe page even while you are browsing through a .pdf
file. An alternative is to download the .pdf file on your machine, logout from CEPGlobe,
read the .pdf at your pace and then come on again on CEPGlobe.
If you have been autologged out and you try logging in without waiting for twenty
minutes, the total time you would be logged out would be much more. For example:
If you have got autologged out and you try logging in again in five minutes, then you
will have to wait for another 20 minutes. So the total time you would have waited to
auto unlock will be the previous 5 minutes + the new 20 minutes = 25 minutes.
While we would appreciate if you wait for 20 minutes, if you feel you do not want to
wait even for 20 minutes before getting auto unlocked, then you may sms or give us
a missed call and we would try to unlock your account.
We have elaborated at length on this feature so that you appreciate the technological
limitation at this point of time. We are sure you will find your own ways to circumvent
the discomfort caused by this autologout feature. This feature is a necessary evil of this
on-line course. Please minimize your discomfort by letting the mouse do something on
the CEPGlobe page every 15 minutes.
On completion of 14 days from the first day of login, Exam link would be active.
As per point 8 in the Guidelines, you would now be able to take the mock exam from
chapter 2 to 5. Please note that there are no notes or mock exam available for About
the Course.
