An Evaluation of autism: The way some kids are today

Autism is a mental condition coming from the early childhood of having problems

with communication and forming a relationship with other people. Autism is one of the

fastest growing developmental disorders in the United States. As of now autism has

affected one in sixty-eight children, 1/42 boys and 1/189 girls. Its more common for

males to get autism than it is for girls. Autism is one of the most expensive disorders,

costing a family $60,000 a year in average. There is currently no medication to cure

autism you just have to work with them and help them get better with certain things and

people.

Autism has 3 main parts of their actions, which are communication skills

(reciprocal conversation), social and restrictive interest and repetitive behavior. There are

many different levels of Autism such as Genetic Disorders, Sensory Processing

Problems, Social Challenges, and Repetitive behavior. If anyone has Autism the school

district is in charge from the day you first turn 3 until the day you turn 22. The one main

thing that someone with Autism has is when they talk or hear about one thing thats all

they want to talk about, and they will continue to talk about it even though you dont

want to talk about it.

Genetic Disorder is a disease that is caused by a charge in an individuals DNA.

Some children with Autism have a genetic condition that affects their brain development.

That Genetic disorder is called Fragile X syndrome, Angelman Syndrome, Tuberous

sclerosis and chromosome syndrome. Single gene disorder appears to affect 15 to 20

percent of those with ASD. ASD has high functioning Autism. Some of these syndromes

have characteristics features or family histories. The result of Genetic disorder it can help

guide treatment associated with medical issues and life planning.

A sensory processing problem is a condition in which the brain has trouble

receiving and responding to information. Many people with Autism has Unusual

responses to sensory input. They also have difficulty processing and Integrating sensory

information, or stimuli, such as their sights, sound, smells, taste and movement. Some

people with Autism are hypersensitive to sounds, or touch a condition also known as

sensory defensiveness. Hypersensitive can include failure to respond when someone

name is called. An example of that would be me constantly repeating my brothers name

and he doesnt respond or another example is the ability to tolerate wearing clothes, or

being in a room with normal lighting.

Social Challenges are alteration over time in a behavior patterns and cultural

values. Children with Autism are attached to their parents. Both children and adults with

Autism also tend to have difficulty interpreting what others are thinking or feeling. Many

people with Autism have similar difficulty seeing things from another persons view. Now

a days five year olds understand that other people have different thoughts, feelings, and

goals then they have now. It is common but not universal for those with autism to have

difficulty regulating emotions. Social challenges can also cause frustration in self-

injurious behaviors such as head banging, and hair pulling.

Unusual repetitive behaviors and a tendency to engage in restricted range of

activities are another core system. Common repetitive behaviors are hand flapping,

twirling your hair, rocking, repeating words, jumping, and saying your phase. This can

also be reflected on how any kid with Autism plays with toys. Some adults with Autism

are preoccupied with having a household or other objects in a fixed order. Also

Repetitive behaviors can take a form of intense of preoccupations. Older children and

adults with Autism may develop tremendous interest in numbers, symbols, and dates. A

Repetitive behavior can be me tapping my foot all class period long, because I am doing

it repeatedly it is repetitive. Some of the information that they know very well is because

they say these things everyday and are use to these sayings, or doings.

Facial expression on autism, movements, and gestures may not match what they

are saying. Their tone of voice may fail to reflect their feelings. Many people with autism

use a high pitch voice, or robot like voice. Many times its hard for other people to

understand what they want or what they need, and failing in communicate what they want

challenging their behavior. Some children only have slight delays in their language or

even develop their language and unusually large words.

Autism is getting bigger and bigger as the year grows. Someone having autism

you really cant tell from the outside, its only mentally. It is more people with autism then

it was 10 years ago. Many people try to take their teenage child to a home to be taken

care of but some of the kids are really aggressive. The level colors in autism are very easy

to understand. Blue being the lowest and red being the highest. Their isnt any medicine

in this world to cure autism. Autism is a really important disability that everyone should

be educated on.
