POLICE REPORT

Case No: 24365733432

Date: April 9, 2010

Officer: John Ruiz

Prepared By: April 13, 2010

Incident:

On Friday, April 9, 2010, at 9:45 p.m., I, Officer John Ruiz, was dispatched to 405 Blueridge Hotel to
investigate a noise complaint. I met with Frank Gaines, who had reported the complaint.

Gaines told me he occupied room 403 of Blueridge Hotel. He was about to sleep when he heard the
screaming and loud noises of struggle occur in the next room. He is a sales representative for Pfizer,
and he was staying at a hotel for a business conference. This was his first night staying at Blueridge
hotel.

The following is a description of room 405 in Blueridge Hotel.

a women cowering at the corner of the room with bruises all over her body and dried blood
covering her face

a man sleeping on the bed

a messy room with several broken things that may have been used to harm the girl

I lifted latent fingerprints from several of the broken items. I saw fragments of glass on the floor which
may have been a glass and all windows are intact. The man who identifies himself as Joffrey Lanes
claims that the women was his girlfriend. The girl, who was identified as Stella Garfield refused to
talk. I photographed the room as well as Stellas injuries. I questioned the manager of Blueridge
Hotel (Anna Morgan). She told me:

Joffrey Lanes had checked into the hotel on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at 3:00 p.m.

He was alone and he didnt leave the hotel after he checked in.

Stella Garfield has entered the hotel on Friday, April 9, 2010, at 9:30 p.m.
I looked up Stella Garfield in the system and she had previously been arrested for prostitution. I took
both Stella Garfield and Joffrey Lanes to the station for further investigation.

I took the fingerprints to the Evidence Room at approximately 10:35 a.m. on April 9.
