CHALLENGES OF
MALAYSIA PULP & PAPER INDUSTRY
1. Domestic mills are expected to import more from 3Q2015
onwards as consumer spending declined after the
implementation of Good and Service Tax.
2. The weakening RM against USD has increase cost of importing
resulted in higher manufacturing cost.
3. As domestic mills increased its utilization, the price increase
pressure on domestic recovered paper is unavoidable.
