TEACHINGPROCEDURES
Day one will begin with the students being introduced to the topic of
Sustainability. To start off the class the students will first research What is
Sustainability? This will be the bell work for the class. This should take no more
than ten minutes. Websites for students will be posted as a starting off point.
Once the bell work is done the students will conduct a think pair share, this is so
ideas can be shared. Once this is done the teacher will move on the main activity.
The teacher will then introduce the main topic, farming.

The students will use computers to research two different farming practices. The
two farming techniques that will be researched by students will be Urban Farming
and Monoculture Farming. By the end of class students will be able to explain
what monoculture farming is as well was what urban farming is. The students will
also be able to compare and contrast the two.

The students will need to be able to answer:

"What is Monoculture Farming?"
"What is Urban Farming?"
"Find a real word example of each farming technique."
"What are positives and negatives of each farming practices that you can find in
the research or think of?"
