SUN. 8 AUG. Excursion Day 2

TUE. 10 AUG. Excursion Day 4. Participants return to Melbourne; stay overnight.
WED. 11 AUG. Excursionists fly Melbourne - Cairns. Stay overnight.

THU. 12 AUG. Symposium Day 1.
09:00 Participants meet in Cairns, North Queensland, at departure point for bus* (Railway
Station, Bunda Street; A7 on Cairns city map); travel to Undara via Lake Barrine
NP, Atherton, Mt Hypipamee NP, Ravenshoe (lunch at own expense).
16:00 Arrive Undara Resort; check-in.
17:30 Welcome drinks – Bistro Deck
18:00 Opening of Symposium – Amphitheatre
18:30 “Bush Barbecue” Dinner (Chicken, fish, steak, sausage; salad; vegetarian;
tea/coffee) – Ringers’ Camp*
FRI. 13 AUG. Symposium Day 2

08:00 Depart. Bus returns participants to Cairns via Atherton and Kuranda*
(Option: take Skyrail from Kuranda, at own expense.)
13:00 Earliest likely arrival time at Cairns Airport; then to Cairns City.

*Indicates a fee is payable in advance and bookings should be made either through the
Undara Booking Form or the Symposium Registration Form.
The Undara Resort is fully licenced (to sell alcoholic drinks); the bar, located near the Bistro,
is open from 17:30 daily.
Details of activities for accompanying persons, such as local bushwalks and use of the
swimming pool, can be obtained from Reception. The “Wildlife at Sunset” Tour
needs to be booked in advance ($40.50/head).
† This tour has been approved by the Parks Service but will depend on CO2 level on the day.
