WEBSTER HOSTS FREE, OPEN-TO-PUBLIC EVENT: COLLEGE SELECTION & SUCCESS 101

Greenwood Village, CO, May 8, 2007 Webster Universitys Denver campus is hosting a free, open-to-the-public higher
education exposition entitled College Selection & Success 101, which offers solutions for traditional college students
and returning professionals seeking to find, finance and succeed at the next level of higher education.
Scheduled for Thursday, May 24th, the event will feature a variety of Denver-area colleges and universities which
represent dozens of campus-based and online degree programs, ranging from technical/trade education to graduate and
doctoral-level degrees.
Educational services experts from organizations including Solutions for Tuition and CollegeinColorado will
answer questions about a wide range of topics including academic success tips, scholarships and college financing.
Additionally, the event will host organizations representing numerous career opportunities with employers offering
education-friendly benefits including flexible schedules and tuition reimbursement.
Dr. Karl Sterner, Webster Universitys campus director, said, Despite the fact that there is a strong and consistent
correlation in the U.S. between educational attainment and earnings, only about one out of every four adults [age 25 or
above] earns a bachelors degree, and only about one in ten earns an advanced degree.
The goal of this event is for schools and service providers to work collaboratively to promote the possibility of
higher education by providing solutions to some of the most common barriers and misconceptions that hinder people from
advancing their education levels.
College Selection & Success will be held at Webster Universitys Denver campus, near Arapahoe and I-25. Two
sessions are available to the public: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Attendees may register for the free event
