CCSS Standards: unit 7 : how are you? : lesson 13 : my letters : letter W
Main Lesson Aims (Concepts, Procedures, & Processes):
- Students will able to identify the sound w at the beginning of words.
- Students will able to say words beginning with the sound w.
- Students will able to copy and write the capital letter W and lower case letter
w, copy familiar known words.
Materials:
teacher books -
teacher materials Flash cards (water, window, wave, wall, wind) , Puzzle with
words begging with W
student materials/ Pencil,
manipulatives
technology PowerPoint , data show , video about the letter W

Lesson Schedule
Targeted teacher language: good morning boys. How are you? I will show a video, give
words that have letter w , excellent , water, window, wave, wall, wind, repeat after me
Student language: good morning Ms, Im fine, thank you, water, window, wave, wall,
wind,
Engage (warm up, review prior knowledge): time:
- I will show a video about the lesson to the students discover the letter
W with the sound of it and also some words begin with letter W.

- I will give each group 4 picture and 4 words (work, watch, walk, wash) 10 mins
begin with letter L and I will tell the students that they should match
the words with the correct pictures. Then, I will ask each group to
show me the words with the picture, and each student will read one
word and tell me the meaning of it.
- I will show a PowerPoint that has the new words ( water, window, wave,
wall, wind,) with the pictures of them and let the students repeat the words
with me . After that, I will point to the picture and ask them what is that?
And so on. 25 mins
- I will show flash cards that have the pictures of the new words (water,
window, wave, wall, wind) and give to each group. Each student will
have one word and he should tell me the words that he had. If they
not answer I will let them repeat the words again.
- I will give each student paper with the one of the new word and
student should draw a picture that describes the word. Each student
will has one word and he should draw one.
- After that, I will let the students put the word that they have in a
sentence
