Top Jobs for a Computer Science Degree

In our tech-crazy world we live in it makes sense that there would be a lot of jobs that come

along with it. You may think that it all is similar, but the world of tech is extremely diverse. This

diverse world creates so many different types of jobs, and has endless opportunities for people

all around the world to advance in the world of tech. Since the tech world is so diverse there

really is a job for everyone, such as: those that like working with their hands, problem solving,

creatively working, working closely with other people, etc

A software developer creates software that is going to perform some kind of program or

function. One aspect of the job is they need to make sure it will work on multiple types of

devices, so you can access this software whether you are on a computer, phone, tablet, etc

This job requires lots of thinking and the ability to think out of the box. You need to think of

ways to tell a computer to do a certain thing in a certain way, which is extremely hard. You

need to have an aspect of creativity in your personality to be able to be a software developer.

Database administrators is another job you can have with a computer science degree.

They are responsible for database systems and helping users store data. This is not the most
glamorous computer science career but it is still an extremely important job. We use databases

all the time, in all different industries, as it is a very efficient way of keeping track of data and

using that data efficiently. The database administrator needs to be extremely comfortable using

a database and knowing the problems that come along with it and how to solve those

problems.

If you like using your hands a Computer Hardware Engineer might be the right way to

go. They are responsible for designing computers so they work great for the user. They have to

have to be very knowledgeable about computers as they have to design, build, and test as they

boards, routers, and memory devices. They also have to be very flexible, as the world of tech is

always changing, so what may be the best way today might not be the best way tomorrow.

They need to figure out how to work the new technology with the old technology, because the

average user isnt going to have the newest tech available most of the time. They may even

need to figure out how to use the old tech with the new tech.

If you enjoy working closely with other people and working with technology a computer

systems analyst may be the right job for you. Those working in this field work closely with

businesses or organizations and make sure their computer systems are running efficiently. They
look at hardware and software and recommend upgrades when needed to make the business

run more smoothly. You would have to have a thorough knowledge of both hardware and

software. You would also have to be comfortable convincing the business to change whatever

you are suggesting.

Computer Network Architects are those in the computer science field that work the most

closely with networks. They work on making networks such as LAN, WAN, extranets, and

intranets. They work on maintaining the networks and problem solving when needed. They may

run into problems when designing, implementing or while running the system. So they need to

have the knowledge in order to fix the problems as they occur.

If you like working on the web and have a creative side a Web developer may be the

perfect fit for you. You need to be able to the technical aspects of the website such as the

structure and accessibility with multiple browsers. They are responsible creating the best

structure for the website so the company or whoever has that page will have a greatest

possible amount of visitors to the page. This is a job for those that like working closely with

others as you need to communicate with the user to make sure it is what they want and need.

In this tech world we live in Security analyst may be one of the most important

computer science jobs there is. They are responsible for making systems that will protect the

network from cyber attacks that could cause a great deal of damage. They need to create a

system, test the system, and maintain the system. They need to be flexible as computer hackers

are constantly changing. A Security analyst has to think out of the box as they have to think of

problems before they even occur.

Computer programmers actually write the code to tell the computer what exactly they

are needing. They need to be able to work closely with others as they need to know exactly

how to do the job and what they are expecting the program to do. They need to be

knowledgeable in computer langagues in order to communicate with the computer and tell it

what to do. They need to design the program from scratch all the while debugging and making

sure it is working.

In the end, There is a so many different fields you can go into with a computer science

degree, and their truly is a job for just about any type of person. These jobs in the tech field are

just going to keep getting higher in demand and the world of tech gets bigger and bigger. It

truly is an amazing time to be starting out in the Computer Science field.
