Despite the availability of various control techniques and project control software many

construction projects still do not achieve their cost and time objectives. (Olawale and
Ming, 2010). Various researches were conducted on project management and a probable
solution was found in the form of a scheduling software named as Primavera P6. The
software offers a what-if scenario modelling and tabular scorecards and capacity analysis
and is used for planning, scheduling, and project time management. Primavera P6 is
amazing software, which is used not just by planners, but also managers, engineers,
schedulers, and anyone else involved in planning, management, reporting of a project
(Subramani and Chinnadurai, 2015). Most of the prime contractors use Primavera and
Microsoft scheduling software in which most of the schedules are prepared in the firm
without consultation from a third party and the primary users of scheduling software
included schedulers, project managers, superintendents and assistant project managers.
(Bell et al., 2008).

Effective time planning is very important in determining a success of any project. Thus,
project delays and budgeted cost overrun can occur by the lack of proper time
management. In a broader sense, time management implies the control of the entire
planning system, as time is directly or indirectly related with project activities and project
functions. (Thangam and Benila, 2016).

Reddy et al. (2015) minimized the problem of resource allocation, usage and wastage
through primavera P6 software. They considered the construction of two ongoing projects
in Dubai, UAE and sorted out the resource issues by individual resource levelling then
combining both projects data and analyzing it collectively. Comparison indicated a
reduction in demand of resources by 5.65% in the latter option.

Construction planners prepare a construction schedule under the assumption that all the
resources needed for each activity will be available to the constructor at any time during
the construction process. (Aslani et al., 2009).
