MUSEUM OF THE TWENTY
was connected with the Mountain Mennonite Church. The church, or meeting
house as it was called, was built sometime between 1843 and 1845.
50th Anniversary
The church discontinued services in the fall of 1908. The church/building was
Pioneer Day later sold, and relocated in 1918. The heritage value of the cemetery resides in
its significant historical value as a burial place for many founding Swiss

Mennonite families which settled in Lincoln County, Upper Canada from 1786 -
Homecoming 1826.
At least 240 burials have taken place at Mountain Mennonite Cemetery. The

Honsberger, Housser, Kratz, Michener, Moyer, Rittenhouse, Sievenpiper, Tufford

Opened in July 1993 by the Jordan Historical Museum


of the Twenty Board, with generous assistance from
Mr. Len Pennachetti, our JHMTVA Heritage Gift Shop
has operated with the beneficent support of hundreds of
volunteers.
Funds raised were wisely invested over the past two
decades for the future benefit of the Jordan Historical
Museum of the Twentys Building Fund.
In November 2015, the JHMTVA pledged $1,000,000 to Volunteer in the Heritage Gift Shop
support the Town of Lincoln Councils decision to proceed 3836 Main Street, Jordan, Ontario
with the Museums Heritage Cultural Gateway 905-562 4849
development.

The Volunteer Association has made an absolutely phenomenal donation. I just dont think as a
