KICKING BALL TECHNIQUE

3.1 Show gross motor manipulative skills by using
arms, hands, and feet with increased coordination, such as
rolling a ball underhand, tossing underhand, bouncing,
catching, striking, throwing overhand, and kicking.

STANDARD TO BE ADDRESSED:
Safety awareness
Body movement and foot techniques
How to move large gross motor movement safely
Safety phrase to communicate the ball is going to be
kicked for ball awareness and readiness.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
4 to 6 years of age
4 to 5 children
Pair into groups of two or three

GROUP AGE & SIZE:


The
students will gain gross motor
manipulative skills.
The students will gain cooperative
skills.
The
students will gain social and
communication skills.

OBJECTIVE:
One ball per group of 2-3 children

MATERIALS:
Review
The teacher will demonstrate to the children how to
properly kick the ball.
The children will need to know proper body
movement and foot movement techniques to stop
moving ball and kick a ball.
The children will need to know safety
communication phrases to let the child be aware that
the ball is going to be kicked to them. For example
Here comes the ball, Jonathan or I am going to
kick the ball to Jonathan
