NEWFIELD EXPLORATION MID-CONTINENT, INC., TULSA, OK 2004-2009


Lead Drilling Regulatory Analyst / Engineering Technician
Managed compliance with state and federal regulation associated with the drilling and completion of new
horizontal oil & gas wells in an ambitious and very successful asset development program expansion.
• As Lead Regulatory Analyst, personally managed the state and federal regulatory compliance
requirements for as many as 100 drilling/recompletion projects per year.
• Worked closely with drilling engineers as a member of the Drilling and Completions team, and
also with state officials, helping to maximize drilling and completion cost efficiency with the use
of pre-set rigs and pad drilling operations as Newfield dramatically increased drilling activity.
• Implemented, utilized, and supported online permitting for nearly 100% of the company’s new
Texas and Oklahoma wells.
• Worked with reservoir engineers, legal counsel, and Oklahoma Corporation Commission officials
to help establish new rules and procedures for filing initial flow tests on Woodford shale
horizontal gas wells.
• Worked with legal department and consultants to make changes in Texas Railroad Commission
Field Rules applicable to the company’s operations in the Texas Panhandle.

CONOCOPHILLIPS COMPANY 1983-2004


Petroleum Engineering Technician / D.I.M.S. Administrator (1991-2004)
Responsible for implementation and training for the new D.I.M.S. daily drilling reporting and database
system and for all regulatory permitting and reporting for drilling / recompletion operations.
• Trained and supported field supervisors on laptop computers and applications, including DIMS.
• Supported over fifty engineering, geological, and administrative personnel with first-line help for
DIMS and various database reporting applications dealing with oil and gas drilling and operating
data.

engineers to produce graphic project schedules for all phases of prototype aerospace / defense parts
made from advanced high temperature plastic composite.
• Wrote inventory tracking program in Superbase and dBase database programming software to track

• Equipped and operated tooling shop to produce thermoformed aerospace / defense prototype parts
with high temperature thermoplastic composite laminates being developed by Phillips.
