Human Resources Administrator

Berkley Specialty Underwriting Managers
600 Las Colinas Blvd.
Irving, TX 75039

Dear Sir or Madam:

I was excited to learn of the position of Actuarial Analyst from Berkley Specialty Underwriting Managers
website. The opportunity to gain experience in multiple areas of practice, while receiving support towards my
commitment to attain ASA designation, is exactly what I have been looking for. In learning more about your
company and the position, I was pleased to see that the Irving office specializes in Entertainment & Sports
underwriting, since I have worked closely with collegiate athletes for the past four years. I believe the experience
I have gained by tutoring student athletes in college level mathematics courses at the University of Texas at El
Paso (UTEP), combined with my excellent academic record, have given me the skills necessary to make a strong
contribution to Berkley Specialty.

While working at the Miner Athlete Academic Center at UTEP, I learned the importance of clear communication,
strategic planning, confidentiality, and interpersonal communication. Some of the skills I would bring to the
position are:

Strong problem solving skills.

Excellent analytic, communication and organization skills.
Excellent adaptation to changes in scheduling, plans, and work environment.

Working as a college mathematics tutor and administrative assistant at the Humane Society of El Paso have
allowed me the opportunity to build upon my leadership skills and to interact with both students and the
community throughout El Paso. In addition, the challenge of working while coordinating academics and school
activities taught me the importance of organizing my time effectively. I have already passed both Exam P and
Exam FM from the Society of Actuaries and am currently enrolled in an online course to develop technical skills
in Excel, Access, and SQL. I work well in a team environment and would bring passion, intelligence, and energy
to the position.

I welcome the opportunity to speak with you over the phone to discuss my skills and experience and will contact
you next week to verify you received my resume. I can also arrange to meet with you in person once we are able
to coordinate a date and time so that I can organize travel arrangements. In the meantime, please feel free to
contact me at dcwillis@miners.utep.edu or by phone at 915-494-1330.

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Danielle Willis
