Paper Sponge Activity (activity that will be done as students enter the room to get them into the
mindset of the concept to be learned) Before the students arrive, I will have the
room split up into debate formation. Students will have to split in half and I
will give them each a side to an argument. The topic will be Should
Anticipatory Set (focus question/s that will be used to get students thinking about the days
lesson)

to prior knowledge/experience) Think about when you had to convince your mom
that you needed those sneakers for your birthday OR that time that you
had to convince Ms.Santana that you needed an extension on the paper.

-It is important that students look up both sides of the argument because
they have to bring attention to their opposing side in order to strengthen
their own.
Students will take turns giving me the steps to and argumentative essay
as a short review.
