Chicken Fried

Steak
with gravy

Ingredients
Steak: Gravy:
4-6 cube steaks (tenderized) 1/4 cup of flour
1/2 cup of flour
2 eggs 2 cups of milk
2 cups of Panko bread
crumbs salt & pepper to taste
1/2 tsp of salt
1/4 tsp of pepper

Instructions
Preparing the steak:
-In large pan/skillet, melt shortening over medium-high heat
-Take 3 separate bowls and add:
1. Flour and salt/pepper mixture
2. Eggs, well beaten
3. Bread Crumbs
-Dredge steaks in flour mixture to coat evenly on both sides
-Repeat this process with the egg wash and bread crumbs
-Add to skillet and fry steaks until well-browned (about 5
minutes on each side) or until juices run clear
-Transfer to warm oven while preparing gravy
*DO NOT DRAIN SKILLET*

Preparing the gravy:


-In steak skillet, add remaining flour to juices. Stir often to
create a roux
-Pour in milk and salt/pepper to taste; bring to a rapid boil
-Reduce heat and simmer until gravy thickens
-Serve with mashed potatoes and vegetable of choice
