PRODUCTION OF DETTOL

3. DESCRIPTION OF THE PRODUCT:

The product to be produce by our group (group 9) is Dettol, our group aims at turning into

successful production by producing a wide range of Dettol. The product is meant for both male and
female so therefore our product will not be at sales for student on campus only but to all interested

and present buyers within and outside the polytechnic.

Our production will be carried out in an efficient and effective manner that will attract good

market acceptability and gain market control. The product will be made available to places or

market such as Kuto market, Omida market, Panseke market, the school premises and all our family,

friends and neighbors.

4. COMPETITORS

Our competitors are in line with us due to our product packaging. The product will be made

more attractive, durable and portable than others. The product is of good quality and quantity,

environmental standard and at a cheap and affordable price for every potential buyers or users.

5. COMMERCIAL JUSTIFICATION FOR THE EXPLOITATION OF THE MARKET

OPPORTUNITIES

The product will be sold at affordable price. In order to win the hearts of the potential buyers

or users of the product, SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunities and threats) analysis was duly

noted. As a firm, we are determine to make other firm weakness our strength and their strength our

strong defense in term of quality, price and advertisement

6. PRODUCTION OR SERVICE REQUIREMENT

For the production of Dettol, the following are required:

i. Texapon
ii. I.P.A
iii. Colouring
iv. Phenol
v. Clozaneol
vi. Pine oil
vii. Water

7. PRODUCTION PROCESS
Step 1: Dissolve the texapon with the pine oil

Step 2: Add phenol and clozaneol

Step 3: Add I.P.A and water

Step 4: Add colouring

NOTE: The I.P.A must be more than the water

8. DUTIES AMONG THE TEAM MEMBERS

Each member of the team is assigned a particular function. The functions include, managing

director, production manager, secretary, sales manager, marketing manager e.t.c.

9. MARKETING PLANS / STRATEGIES

Our organization followed three (3) concise strategies to achieve our desired growth exploit.

First, move advantage in a highly fragmented market with a unique and differentiated product.

Second, develop a strong branding campaign of build awareness, positive perception and sales of

our product within our target market

After the final production, the goods will move directly from the manufacturer to the final

consumer i.e. the goods will be taken to different class rooms, road side retailers and to the door

steps of the people through personal selling

10. SALES FORECAST

Our dream for this product is to reach a wide range that is why we went to produce not for

the benefit of the students alone but also for commercial users.

11. CAPITAL SOURCING

We all know that capital is the backbone to start any business. The capital requirement for

any business depends on the nature of the business in relation to the economic situation of the

country i.e. inflation of materials e.t.c. for our type of business, the total amount of N30, 000 will be
needed for a start and as the business grows and gains market control and acceptability, we would

plough back more funds.

The source of capital will be generated through group members contribution. Each member

of the group will contribute a total amount of N 3, 000 each amounting to a total of N 30, 000.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This is an executive summary of our product licensed by MOSHOOD ABIOLA

POLYTECHNIC CENTRE FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT (MAPCED). Our sole

aim is to produce Dettol for the usefulness of both males and females (young and old) in the campus

and outside the campus.


We hold true to the vision of making the product part of individual hygiene because Dettol

helps to prevent germs. MOSHOOD ABIOLA POLYTECHNIC is an optimal location for launching

a new Dettol making concept.

We plan to make good use of our location as a platform for us to launch out into the business

world. This opportunity will help us to learn more and improve in our weaknesses.
