CRM Constructions Inc.s CEO Speaks about Green Concrete

With the rising levels of global warming, the global construction industry is devising new ways to protect the environment
the best way it can. One of such inventions that can assist in protecting the environment is green concrete. The CEO of
CRM Constructions Inc. Terry Tracy recently shared her thoughts on the advantages and limitations of this valuable
substance.

Explaining about the basic details of this less-known substance Tracy said Green concrete is a substance that is made
from concrete wastes that are eco-friendly. Some examples of such kind of waste include but are not limited to power
plant wastes, recycled concrete, slag, mining & quarrying wastes, red mud, waste glass, incinerator residue, sawdust,
burnt clay, foundry sand and combustor ash. This term was coined in Denmark in the year 1998. This substance is used to
ensure that a sustainable structure is built.

If any construction company in Orange County, California or in any other region of the USA is thinking about creating
green concrete structures, it must comply with a few alternative environmental requirements. Tracy mentions a few
requirements by stating When creating structures by using this substance, one must remember that the CO2 emissions
are reduced by 20 percent and at least 20 percent concrete should be residual products used as aggregate. There are
many such requirements, you must read up on them before starting the project to avoid undue delays and
complications.
Talking about the advantages of this useful substance, Tracy said It ensures reduction of concrete industrys CO2
emissions by about 30 percent, increases the use of waste products by concrete industry by 20 percent and reduces the
environment pollution considerably. Structures made of this substance also require fewer repairs & maintenance and
they are fire & thermal resistant.

Talking about the comparisons between the conventional option and the environment-friendly one, Tracy stated Green
concrete has better workability as compared to the conventional option and its flexural strength is similar to the
conventional option. The compressive strength behavior of green concrete with water cement ratio is also similar to the
conventional one.

Though Tracy admits that this substance is a wonderful option and wishes to use it in the projects carried out by her
companys construction projects, she also admits that this wonderful option has a few limitations as well. Discussing the
limitations, Tracy said The cost of reinforcement increases if stainless steel is used. Another cost factor that must be
remembered is that the life of a structure using this option is comparatively less than a structure made using the
conventional option.

.Tracy further added I hope to use this useful substance in some of the projects we initiate via our construction company
in Orange County as I have always dreamt of making our locality a better place to live in, not only for us but for people of
the future generations as well. I hope that all our current and future clients would understand the value addition offered
by this substance and give a nod to using it in all the new construction projects we start, be it residential, commercial or
industrial. When we are using this product in every project we undertake, no one would be happier than me because I
want my construction company in Orange County to build meaningful structures without damaging the environment
further.
