Spring
2017 Generational
+ TRANSFORMATION
In the words of our Childrens Ministry Director
Generational Transformationthis has been heavy on my heart lately. I thought about it on our 2,000 mile trek
across the U.S. to get to Aim Right and it continues to be on my mind as we settle in Phoenix. How can we at
Aim Right promote generational change and transformation in the young lives we encounter? How can we pre-
sent Jesus and the Gospel that truly leaves a lasting impression on the children that come to Aim Right?
Zacchaeus was a man who experienced a transformation; he was a tax
collector, a sinner and no one thought Jesus should be with a man like
him. But Jesus used him to show us that even the most unlikely of people
can experience Jesus in a way that alters their life and transforms them We want to
see them
along with generations that follow. As we look across the crowd at Kids

Club and we see kids that seem to not be interested in Jesus, we contin- JESUS...
ue because we know that the seeds are being planted and at any given
time Jesus can use us to change a childs life for years to come.

We want to see them grow in Jesus, to attend Kids Club and transition up
to our Teen Ministry, to help them graduate high school and to see them
set high goals for their lives that center around Jesus. We want to see them raise a new generation steadfast in
Jesus. Thats why we do what we do, thats why we continue, striving to see transformation in our lives and
youth we meet at Aim Right.

Being uprooted at the age of 5 from the land where I was born and
brought to a different country was a tumultuous ordeal. Not knowing the
language was just one part of the transition, not feeling like you belong
was another part. Being in a place where everyone else, aside from my
family, were strangers was very difficult for me as a child. At the age of
12, I was very blessed to meet Caleb Reed who is now Aim Rights Direc-
tor. Caleb invited me to teen night and that experience forever changed
my life. I continued to attend Aim Rights events and began to volunteer
through out the years.

When I accepted Jesus Christ into my life things were never again the
same. I saw things through different eyes. I knew that God would be by my
side forever and things began to change. Not only did I have my family
there to support me but I had my Aim Right family to guide me spiritually. I
have met so many people who arent just friends to me, I consider them
family. They knew they could count on me and I knew I could count on

more than I could imagine. Now at the age of 26, I am married to the love
of my life and my best friend, Gloria, one of the biggest blessings God has
given me. She supports me in all I do, especially when it comes to mentor-
ing kids from Aim Right and volunteering in events. Just one more thing, if
you can take away one thing from this, I just want you to know God is
good and He is faithful. Seek Him whole heartily and you will see Gods

I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed I do not even judge myself. My
conscience is clear, but that doesn't make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.

An addict doesn't suffer in addiction by themselves, their whole family suffers. I will
be the first to say that I was running from God, the pain, and running into a lifestyle
that would surely end in a harsh death or land me in prison. Honestly, I didn't know
what I was doing. I was so lost in grief, pain, and anger. The purpose of the Spirits
empowered momentum is to move us from a broken past to Gods plan for us. Be-
ing here at Teen Challenge Home of Hope has changed me dramatically. God is
working on me and I am letting Him. I know I have sinned and Ive asked for Gods Arianna had been involved with Aim Right during her

We want to thank Amy for her dedication to our Ministry as she goes on to obtain her teaching degree. She served wholeheartedly in
reflecting the love of Christ through her work and outreach and has left a lasting impact on many kids over the past 12 years.

During these years here she heard God calling her as she helped during Aim Rights Tutor Program where volunteers would sit with kids from
the neighborhood to help them with their homework. She often wondered why the kids were not learning at school. It sadden her heart and
with a positive attitude she thought she needed to do something about it. SHE DOVE IN and took the plunge! Amy has now been studying at
Grand Canyon University since June 2015 on her road to becoming a TEACHER!! She will be graduating on May 3rd of this year!!

Thank You Amy for your 12 years at Aim Right

Almost two years ago, I decided to pursue a degree in Elementary Education and began coursework that has brought me
to my current position: a student teacher of 30 third graders in a public school. The
school has a high poverty rate, a high teacher turnover rate, and a history of poor
academic performance. Without going into specific details, many of the challenges
that my students face remind me of ones that Aim Right youth also encounter. The
demographics of the two groups are very similar, despite being in two very different
locations in Maricopa County.
.their need of a savior
Throughout my time in the classroom, I have seen that the ministry that Aim Right
provides to at-risk youth is so needed. For instance, the only option for tutor-
ing is dropping a student off at 7:00 a.m. for before-school assistance. I think of the
many students that Aim Rights tutoring program assisted free of charge over the
years, during a time frame that was much more sleep friendly and also one-on-one. I
think of the relationship building and mentoring that happens in a variety of settings. While this can occur between teachers and stu-
dents, it has its limitations. I think of the Gospel, the power of God to transform lives. At Aim Right, it can be freely shared to meet
youths most critical need of all, their need of a Savior.
